The International Legal Foundation (ILF) was established in 2003 is a non-governmental organization headquarter in New York. The ILF works to assist governments around the world develop more effective legal aid systems to ensure that poor and marginalized people have equal and prompt access to quality legal representation. Established in 2015, ILF-Tunisia is a branch office of the ILF. ILF-Tunisia works to support the Tunisian government’s efforts to establish a criminal legal aid systems that provides quality, effective criminal defense services to the poor.
The essential responsibilities for this position:
Provide high quality oral and written translation services between English, Arabic and French in legal and government related fields
Conduct research and drafting memorandum on issues related to the justice sector
Engage in outreach to community based programs
Conduct oral translation for ILF program staff and international experts at meetings and events with justice sector actors
Work effectively with ILF-Tunisia international staff, experts and fellows
Ability to travel to other regions within the country, if needed.
Work full time, 5 days per week
Work within the required deadlines as established by ILF program staff
Provide other support to the implementation of the ILF-Tunisia program, as requested by ILF program staff
