Project Background:

The USAID Fiscal and Accounting System of Tunisia (FAST) Project supports the Government of Tunisia (GoT) to improve public financial management.  FAST focuses specifically on enhancing and upgrading the government’s public financial management information system (PFMIS) to increase the efficiency, transparency, and predictability of public finances.  The project strengthens the government’s capacity to carry out fiscal, budgetary, and revenue collection mandates and advances electronic services to optimize regulations, procedures, and authorizations that reduce the cost and time burden on businesses, facilitate investment and trade, and promote innovation. Finally, FAST works to strengthen communication between policy makers and the public to build a common understanding of the constraints to—and opportunities for—economic expansion.

 

Purpose: 

The Technical Writer will support the Technical and all FAST staff writing technical in alliance with USAID standards.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks:

  • Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and editing in FAST reports and USAID deliverables. 
  • Develop high quality monthly, quarterly, and annual reports standards, narrative, training materials, and other technical documentation.
  • Ensure that project deliverables follow U.S government (USG) standards for the use of clear and easily understood language, and well organized, concise, and easily accessible to reviewers from a broad array of disciplines.
  • Draft original content – FAST project meeting minutes as needed, ensuring all FAST draft reports are complete and within page limits in advance of reviews.
  • Support the MEL teams in writing success stories, one pager, developing graphics, text boxes, and reviewing all reporting sections for consistency, precision, and compliance.
  • Align with USAID best practices for developing deliverable report outlines, templates, and USAID reporting approach and standards. 
  • Assist with trainings organized for the project staff, partners and beneficiaries in monitoring, performance reporting and learning 
  • Work on data entry and cleaning in the M&E databases 
  • Take other duties as requested by the MEL Manager and project management 

 

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
  • 2-4 years’ experience as an effective technical writer
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical topics
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly computer literate with advanced e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with USAID projects preferred. Experience with international donor-funded projects also an advantage.
  • Experience and familiarity with DAI systems and procedures preferred.
  • Oral and written fluency in English. French and Arabic experience preferred.
