Background
USAID’s Tunisia Accountability, Decentralization and Effective Municipalities (TADAEEM) Project is a 4-year project that aims to help the Government of Tunisia decentralize governance to the institutions closest to its citizenry and continue to strengthen its nascent democracy. Deloitte, alongside a team of subcontractors, will work to enhance citizen participation in the process of governance as well as the government’s capacity to deliver the services that citizens prioritize. The Project team will work in 11 Governorates, 31 adjacent municipalities, and with the central government in Tunis to ultimately strengthen the ecosystem of stakeholders and institutions across the country through four regional hub offices located in Kef, Kairouan, Gabes and Tozeur, supported by headquarters in Tunis.
Objectives
The TADAEEM Communications Officer will be responsible for developing, guiding and implementing day-to-day communications and outreach efforts.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and manage communications and outreach work related to program design, implementation, and management;
- Collaborate with colleagues across the TADAEEM activity to create content for internal and external audiences, including:
- Developing timely material to promote TADAEEM activities for distribution on social media, website, newsletters, and other external modes of communication;
- Implementing the TADAEEM activity’s social media strategy, including regularly updating Facebook, Twitter, and other accounts;
- Providing research, analysis, drafting, and other support for thought leadership pieces (e.g., journal articles, op-eds, white papers) produced by the TADAEEM activity leadership.
- Contribute to and manage the TADAEEM activity’s online presence, implementing regular and creative campaigns that are timed and synchronized according to particular events or activities;
- Write bi-monthly bullets, monthly one-pagers and two quarterly success stories for USAID in English;
- Maintain photo library for use in communications including photos taken across the TADAEEM project;
- Compile daily media monitoring email report shared with USAID/Tunisia and their implementing partners;
- Develop a TADAEEM newsletter highlighting activities, successes and upcoming events;
- Maintain a TADAEEM stakeholder engagement list to use for dissemination;
- Monitor counterpart online communication metrics and compile reports for technical staff to use in developing strategic communication plans;
- Track the TADAEEM activity’s online presence, including media mentions of the TADAEEM activity and activities and web and social media analytics;
- Organize and manage TADAEEM outreach events, including events related to specific activities and the overall project; and
- Other duties as assigned to support TADAEEM communications and outreach efforts.
Reporting Requirements
The Communication Officerwill report to the MEL Manager and The Chief of Party.
