Background:

Kvinna till Kvinna provides support to women’s rights organisations in Tunisia and Egypt. Our support includes financial support, networking opportunities and technical and organizational support. Our partner Belady-an Island for Humanity has identified conducting 5-years strategic planning as a key capacity development need. The purpose of this consultancy is to respond to this need, by facilitating a 3 days strategic planning workshop and translating the results of the retreat into a 5-years Strategic Plan.

About Kvinna till Kvinna:

Kvinna till Kvinna (www.kvinnatillkvinna.org) is a Swedish foundation that provides support to women rights organisations and women human rights defenders in more than 20 countries. Kvinna till Kvinna’s Tunis office was established in 2018 and handles support to Tunisia and Egypt within our regional MENAFEM programme. In the MENA region, we currently support 50+ women’s rights organizations in the MENA region through country offices in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq and a regional office in Amman.

About Belady:

Belady – an Island for Humanity, is a human rights organization that advocates for civil and political rights and aims at promoting transparency and accountability and curbing violations. Belady operates from three offices including in the US, Egypt, and Tunisia.

Aiming to consolidate its position in North Africa countries, Belady is in process of preparing its strategic planning for the 5 upcoming years.

Role and responsibilities

The consultant is expected to:

  1. Familiarize with Belady work. Then, plan for the Strategic planning retreat in consultation with Belady’s directors.
  2. Design appropriate facilitation methodologies and materials to achieve the retreat objectives. The retreat tools must be participatory and innovative and designed to provoke critical review and thinking amongst the participants as well as to create an open and safe environment where people feel equal in the room.
  3. Produce the inputs for a draft Strategic Plan document based on the outcomes of the retreat and the identified strategic priority results for 2022-2026 and agreed specific recommendations to manage potential risks.
  4. Provide advice and perform other tasks as required to support the retreat.

 

Delivrables :

  • Develop and implement a strategic planning retreat
  • Final consultancy report
  • 5 years strategic plan

Location of the assignment

The assignment will be in Tunis.

 

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is required
  • Familiarity with laws and human rights is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency of English and Arabic. French is an asset
