Background

Since January 2024, Hilfswerk International (HWI), an established Austrian organisation providing global disaster relief, reconstruction, and development cooperation, has launched the “Youthpreneur” project. This initiative aims to equip students in Tataouine with Startup skills and cultivate a startup mindset. The Youthpreneur component of the project will be implemented through Startup clubs in 13 high schools in Tataouine. At the end of the academic year, club members will present their outcomes in the form of Tedtalks to students from other schools.

Purpose of the Consultancy

The main purpose of this consultancy is to co-design a comprehensive teacher manual on Startups tailored for High School students. This guide will serve as a reference for teachers throughout the school year. In addition, the consultant will co-conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) session in November 2024 for selected teachers, preparing them to instill a startup mindset in their students. The consultant will also offer continuous support to ensure that teachers are successfully implementing the guide.

Expected Results

• Co-design a guide to be used by teachers throughout the academic year to present the concept of startups in a simplified, informative, and engaging manner. The guide should incorporate practical activities and methodologies to foster a startup mindset.

• Co-conduct a TOT training session for selected teachers in Djerba during November 2024, focusing on integrating Startup concepts into the classroom.

• Deliver a series of monthly follow-up sessions for the teachers to track their progress.

Desired Outcome

By the end of the training, participants should be able to effectively run Startup clubs in their schools and have a well-elaborated manual at hand. This will enable them to inspire and guide students in entrepreneurial thinking and activities.

Qualifications

The consultant is expected to possess:

• An advanced university degree in education, Startup, business development, or a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of experience in similar assignments, particularly in Startup education or capacity building for educators.
• Proven expertise in developing training materials and resources that promote an Startup mindset.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teachers.
• Excellent communication skills in Arabic and French, both orally and in writing. Proficiency in English is considered an asset.

• An updated Resume/CV.
• A technical proposal outlining the proposed approach, including methodology and tools for the consultancy.
• A financial proposal that details the total budget, including fees, travel costs, and communication expenses, in local currency (Tunisian Dinars).  The contractor must have valid patent, and payment is subject to tax deductions as per government rules.
• Provision of two references: The consultant must provide names, organisations, contact details, and a brief description of the most recent consultancies in a similar field.
