SPARK is currently implementing a three-year program called LEAD (Local Employment in Africa for Development) aimed at improving the social-economic position of youth in Libya, Somalia/land and Tunisia, with a heavy focus on youth job creation through education & entrepreneurship development and SME growth. The program focuses on supporting youth through access to education, and the labor markets by creating jobs and opportunities via support and targeted coaching to existing SMEs and new start-ups.
As part of its education component, SPARK is cooperating with selected academic institutions across Libya in developing innovative curriculum to support and develop the growth potential of young Libyan students.
The curriculum will focus specifically on improving existing I.T curricula and enhance the professional and technical competencies of teachers and educators in the sector. The aim of the curriculum is to contribute to the creation and development of entrepreneurial, tech-savvy attitudes and increase the motivations of young Libyans in the areas of IT and business.
SPARK intends to organize a 5-day Training of Trainers (ToT) session for Libyan IT programming and coding professors and university teachers in Tunis, Tunisia.
The main objective of this consultancy is to develop solid curriculum training tools for teachers in the I.T sector who will in turn pass on their knowledge to students. The aim of the curriculum is to address the main gaps within the I.T education sector as identified through a needs assessment and develop a robust training manual responding to the needs identified. The course will be delivered to a total of 24 university lecturers, in Tunis, Tunisia.
