SPARK is currently implementing a three-year programme called LEAD (Local Employment in Africa for Development) aimed at improving the social economic position of youth in Tunisia, Libya and Somalia, with a heavy focus on youth job creation through entrepreneurship development and SME growth. Theprogramme focuses on supporting youth through access toeducation, and the labour markets by creating jobs andopportunities via training and targeted coaching to existingSMEs and new start-ups.

By developing innovative entrepreneurship curriculum to be implemented within schools and universities, SPARK seeks to build the capacity of education institutions to ensure that entrepreneurship and business skills are embodied in education and is an integral part of youth development, which is needed to successfully run and grow a business venture.

As a result, SPARK is organizinga 5-day training onmodules of entrepreneurship curriculum (already developed) for 24 university lecturers covering 24 Tunisian governorates.

The training is specifically designed for permanent university teachers belonging to academic institutions. The training is scheduled to take place in September 2018 (exact dates to be confirmed). The location will be communicated later.

The objectives of the training are:

  • Provide teachers with pedagogical skills, enabling them to implement an interactive learning approach of the modules (via active pedagogy: group work, simulation, role playing, etc).
  •  Allow trained teachers to take ownership of the course developed by SPARK and its implementation right after the training
  • Empower education institutions and its teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to improve the entrepreneurship culture in education.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The responsibilities and tasks of the trainer include, but are not limited to:

  • Adopt the training material/content that has been developed by SPARKduring the 5 day training according to the needs of teachers
  • Master the modules developed by SPARK
  • Deliver the five-day training to teachers; ensuring methodology includes interactive tools and activities, while also providing case studies and real examples/exercises.
  • Produce an end-of training report summarizing training (conclusions & recommendations) including participant feedback and evaluation.
  • Ensure a signed daily attendance sheet is kept for each day of the training session
  • Ensure surveys are completed by the teachers before and at the end of the training and provide comparative analysis on any learning improvements

By the end of the training, teachers should be able to do the following:

  • Master all the tools and exercises included in the training material
  • Encourage and facilitate students active learning
  • Teach students new material and content on entrepreneurship

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business, Management or in a relevant field;
  • Knowledge of the Tunisian academic context
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear instructions
  • Interpersonal skills, with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in delivering trainings in the required field
  • Presentation skills - structuring and communicating ideas, using visual and other adequate tools
  • Facilitation skills - managing activities, eliciting contributions and learning in an innovative way
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in French and Arabic
  • Hands-on attitude and willing to help out flexibly if required;
