BBC Media Action, the BBC’s international development organisation, uses the power of media and communication to inform, connect and empower people around the world, helping them to shape their own lives. Working with broadcasters, governments, other organisations and donors, BBC Media Action provides information and stimulates positive change in the areas of governance, health, and resilience and humanitarian response. BBC Media Action’s Research Group conducts research in order to understand our audiences and the impact of our programmes. We undertake research at audience, practitioner, organisation, and system levels.
Our work in North Africa covers Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya, with our office based in Tunis. Current projects include capacity building of the Algerian media to create youth sensitive content and provision of content that improves Libyans’ access to information and encourage debate through the El Kul Facebook page.
BBC Media Action is launching an open call for applications from experts to set up an ad hoc pool of experts for North Africa research activities. In this pool we will be selecting preferred supplier freelances according to the following research profiles:
The Senior Research Analysts are expected to conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative data provided by the BBC Media Action including data cleaning, data visualization & summaries, descriptive and inferential statistics and reporting in English and/or a French/Arabic.
With a “can-do” attitude, the analysts will utilize a broad range of research and analytical techniques to interpret data. They will work closely with the North Africa research team to ensure analysis and reporting is of high standard and quality.
The hired experts will have a framework contract for one-year renewable with a maximum number of workdays per year. The experts’ services will be commissioned based on the need of the office.
