Type of contract: Fixed term, initial one year with three months probation period and renewable based on performance .

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG) is a Tunisian peacebuilding NGO that aims to promote sustainable social cohesion through conflict transformation. 

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground in Tunisia:

ICCG’s strategy includes promoting the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. ICCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. ICCG works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and act on common points. ICCG’s main strategic objectives include: (i) promoting peace education; (ii) fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (iv) transforming violent extremism.

The Ifrikya Center for Common Ground seeks to hire an experienced Senior Finance Officer to support the financial management of the organization . The SFO will also ensure that finance processes and procedures are rolled out properly at the country level.

  • Role and Responsibilities: 

The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring the program’s financial management adherence to the ICCG and  donor’s requirements. This will include the following responsibilities: 

  • Monitor compliance in financial policies, standards and procedures .
  • Ensure all program related documentations are submitted to Finance Compliance.
  • Lead the day to day reconciliations and financial analysis. 
  • Prepare all supporting documents for all financial transactions. 
  • Prepare financial reports and documents and ensure that they are received in a timely manner. 
  • Prepare day-to-day and month-end close entries including revenue, payroll, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accruals, and accrued liabilities.
  • Manages payroll processes and related reporting processes.
  • Oversee Office Cash Flow . 
  • Support program team to manage grants.
  • Review sub-grantee supporting documentation. 
  • Enters all financial transactions into the ICCG’s financial system. 
  • Prepares financial reports for external auditors and donors and coordinates project audits from start to finish, including being available to answer questions and communicate directly with partners on requests.
  • The knowledge in using Financial software(Sage, Quickbooks….) is an asset . 

Perform other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibility as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business economics or related / similar field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience with international organizations.
  • Knowledge and previous/current experience working on programs funded by the Canadian Government .
  • Extensive experience working with partner grant-management, project financial monitoring & management and compliance experience.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English & Arabic, and French.
  • High level of computer literacy of financial accounting softwares

3.Skills and competencies :

  • collaborative, proactive, structured and organized, can work independently, able to meet deadlines, able to multitask.
  •  Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment with minimal supervision.
  • Works collaboratively with senior managers and colleagues sharing senior expertise; builds teams for successful implementation of projects and programs.

Supervisory and Budget Responsibility

This position will be supervised by the ICCG Program Manager and she/he will Supervise one or more staff members.

This position will close on May 15th  , 2024 .
