FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Security Specialist for the Tunisia Country office. FHI360 Tunisia is implementing 4 projects:
- USAID/Ma3an: Tunisia Resilience and Community Empowerment, that promotes resilience at the community level, with the goal of addressing drivers of VE, building community engagement and identity, and strengthening social cohesion between marginalized populations and the rest of Tunisia.
- ACEA Tunisia: Action Collaborative pour les Exportations Artisanales, “Collaborative Action for the Export of Handicraft products”) is a two-and-a-half-year project implemented by FHI 360, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Its goal is to help essential oil artisans in Northwest Tunisia market and commercialize their products, and hence encourage this local economy. The region has not yet achieved the economic potential of the aromatic and medicinal plant resources abundantly present, for a host of reasons.”
- CURES Tunisia: This project is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Office of Assistance Coordination and the aim of this project is to improve scientific research in Tunisia to better prevent and treat non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through the establishment of a simulation center that allows doctors and medical students to apply research and test new technologies and treatments. This opportunity aims to improve healthcare quality in Tunisia and strengthen the business climate to become more conducive to private sector-led growth.
- SURFF Tunisia: Sharing Underutilized Resources with Fishers and Farmers is a US Department of State-funded project that aims to improve the capacity of Tunisian farmers, fishers, agriculture and fishery firms, and cooperatives to adapt to climate change.
Job Summary
The Security Specialist will work under the supervision of the Director of operations, S/he will provide security coordination and technical expertise to members of the organization as they plan, develop, direct, and coordinate effective security programs designed to identify and mitigate risk to employees, executives, visitors, and material assets at multiple operating locations. Supports and administers organizational security plans and operations.
Position Responsibilities
- Collect, collate, and analyze security threat information.
- Provide timely situation assessments and recommendations for action during security incidents.
- Conduct Country/Region Security Risk assessments in assigned area to determine risk levels for personnel and operations.
- Prepare daily and weekly security reports covering significant security-related incidents and provide analysis of how each event impacts the overall safety and security of personnel and operations.
- Prepare and deliver security briefings for movements throughout the zones of intervention and target communities (countrywide).
- Prepare security reports to update personnel on major security developments and their potential impact on operations.
- Provide technical support on all policies, procedures, guidelines and planning for staff safety and operational security.
- Establish productive liaison with security departments at other INGOs, UN, diplomatic missions, and vendor security information providers.
- Establish and sustain close working relationships with managers and field-based personnel to exchange security information and provide advice.
