Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is an international non-profit organization that promotes peaceful resolution of conflict. In Tunisia, SFCG’s CVE approach promotes local research and information-sharing on the drivers ofviolent extremism in order to enhance community relationships with local authorities and securityforces, promote alternative narratives, and strengthen ties at the community level to advance youth andwomen’s roles in building resilient communities and effectively countering and preventing extremistrecruitment. The project supports community-led approaches through reflective learning, monthlydialogue sessions, and local sub-grant initiatives for more effective and participatory CVE strategieswhich are tailored to the six targeted communities' context: Ben Gardane, in the governorate ofMedenine; Sidi Hassine, in Tunis; Sahline, in Monastir; North Bizerte, in the governorate of Bizerte;and finally, Kasserine and Siliana in their eponym governorates.
The project aims at increasing the ability of vulnerable communities to prevent and counter violentextremism in Tunisia. We seek to achieve this goal by promoting the following specific objectives: 1) Increase the engagement of diverse stakeholders (including civil society, youth,women, religious leaders, schools and universities, local governments, and the police and army) incommunity-level dialogue to identify push and pull factors for Tunisians tosupport violent extremism and 2) Strengthen the capacity of diverse stakeholders to implement initiatives within theircommunities to counter violent extremism
This position will be a support function to SFCG’s program in Tunisia. The position will be responsible for project programmatic and administrative oversight, including program reporting, logistics, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). The position will work closely with SFCG’s country director and director of programs, Finance and Admin manager, and all other relevant program staff in the country. In addition to capturing results and contributing to program implementation, the position will require representing SFCG with governemental entities, local government bodies, civil society organisations, security entities, other partners, donors and externally. The position holder will be supervised by the director of programs, and will work regularly with SFCG’s MENA Team. The incumbent will travel for approximately 70% of his or her time.
