FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of  Sustainability Officer for the USAID Ma3an program, which will increase the capacity of communities to withstand political, social, and economic stresses and shocks by achieving the objectives of: 1) strengthened community resilience, 2) mitigated community vulnerabilities, and 3) improved capacity of Tunisian partners to sustain and replicate the model. Ma3an will spur 30 of Tunisia’s most vulnerable communities to action and generate sustainable resources for development in areas that are vulnerable to instability and violent extremism (VE). Together with USAID/Tunisia’s programs in accountability, decentralization, and youth entrepreneurship (i.e., TADAEEM and Mashrou3i), TRACE will consolidate democratic progress while fostering social cohesion in target areas.

Job Summary

The Sustainability Officer  will work in close collaboration with the Sustainability Advisor and the program team. He/She will assist in coordinating  the different sustainability related activities in “Ma3an” communities , collaborate with the team in the implementation of the program “sustainability” strategy and actively contribute to  the planning and development of the different community and youth led activities as well as ensuring a strong engagement of the different stakeholders and partners. The Sustainability Officer will report to the regional program manager and work under the technical supervision of the sustainability advisor.

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the sustainability advisor and the program team on ensuring the quality of the different “ma3an” related activities as well as those implemented by the local partners.
  • Follow up with the local partners and the community resilience committees ( CRCs)  on the development of the sustainability plans and assist them throughout its implementation.
  •  Facilitate the workshops, roundtables and townhalls related to the sustainability of “ma3an” program and assist community stakeholders in organizing them.
  • Contribute to the ongoing efforts of “Ma3an” program to build and expand its network of community stakeholders and private sector representatives by maintaining a strong working relationship and following up with related dynamics in the target communities.
  • Coordinate with Ma3an GESI team on mainstreaming gender equality and social inclusion values and principles across the different Ma3an activities.
  • Coordinate with the MEL team on documenting results and outcomes, analyzing the activity feedbacks and coordinating on the necessary adjustments.
  • Support the regional managers, grants teams and local partners in the ongoing capacity building efforts of “Ma3an” beneficiaries.
  • Assist in the drafting of quarterly reports, as well as those of activities and events.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability advisor and the program team on updating the activity calendar and adjusting the work plan accordingly.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Ba in social science or other related fields
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience with a CSO, International Organization or other related governance and youth work
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English, Arabic and French.
  • Strong analytical skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing dynamics
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Previous experience working with local CSOs, local government officials and youth.
