About the Project:

Ma3an is a five-year (2018-2023) USAID-funded project with the goal to increase youth participation in civic and political life, address youth grievances, and prevent
radicalization in Tunisian communities vulnerable to violent extremism.  Ma3an’s objectives include: Youth are equipped with skills and engaged in civic actions with local actors to address their communities’ needs and grievances (Positive Youth Development – PYD), and Tunisian capabilities to prevent and counter violent extremism are
enhanced (Preventing Violent Extremism- PVE).
 At the community level, Ma3an uses a
community-driven PYD/PVE model to inform and support sustainable interventions through ongoing collaboration between community actors that are inclusive,
participatory, and solutions-focused. These include working with and through
local CSO partners to understand local dynamics in each community; and
implement community-driven PYD/PVE programming involving youth, local NGOs,
local government, and other community leaders through community-specific grants.

Position Overview

Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and tracking of activities, outputs, and outcomes in the Tunis region. Manages the data collection in the Tunis region, conducting and/or supporting local partner trainings on data collection, and ensures accurate submission of data to the central office. Act as the main point of contact for local partners in Tunis, providing necessary training, capacity building, and mentorship. Quality assures local partner reporting, including conducting site visits and spot checks as needed.

Position Responsibilities

Implementing the MEL System

 

·         Responsible for the regular monitoring of all relevant output and outcome indicators in the Tunis region.

·         Contributes to surveys and evaluations as required by Ma3an MEL plan.

·         Contributes to relevant After Action Reviews and Partner Progress Interviews in the Tunis region.

·         Trains local partners in the Tunis region on MEL-related topics, ensuring the application of high-quality MEL activities and data collection and providing ongoing technical assistance as needed.

 

Reporting

 

·         Produces and/or quality assures all required MEL reports in line with the AMELP (including Participant Sign In Sheets and Activity Reports)

·         Assists the regional project team in preparing periodic project reports by providing MEL-related information.

·         Updates the program’s Management Information System with MEL-related information from the Tunis region.

·         Ensures that MEL data is stored on the Ma3an MEL Site according to standards outlined in MEL plan.

 

Coordination

 

·         Attends regular meetings with the entire MEL team, sub-office team, and other Ma3am staff to share progress, challenges, and relevant experiences.

·         Acts as the MEL Point of Contact for all local partners in the Tunis region, developing positive working relationships, providing formal and ad hoc capacity building (as required), and coordinating their activities.

 

Other Responsibilities

 

·         Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by the MEL Director or his/her designee.

·         Respects and abides by all FHI 360 internal regulations.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Bachelor\'s Degree or its International Equivalent in Economics, Education, Environment Health, Human Development, Information Science, International Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience managing data collection and technical assistance.
  • Proficiency with database management.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political, contextual, and ethical issues in the Tunis region.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify errors and prepare reports.
  • Ability to problem solve and implements corrective action as needed.
  • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private company.
