Mission of the Department:

To advise and support North Africa Regional Leadership in creating a culture of collaboration, innovation and results focus in WWF North Africa;
To embed  WWF core values and behaviours in all key People & Culture processes across the region;
To manage People & Culture standards, policies, procedures and platforms aligned with WWF International policies, in order to attract, develop and retain the right people for the region;
To create an optimal working environment in which WWF North Africa employees are able to perform at the highest level and maximize their contribution towards conservation goals;
To manage full employee life cycle including championing people development, performance management, recruitment and compensation philosophy and diversity and inclusion initiatives;
To ensure appropriate controls are in place concerning People & Culture administrative procedures;
To support staff recruitment process in WWF North Africa offices;
To manage the HR administration processes in the WWF North Africa Tunis office.

Major Functions:

Dedicated People & Culture resource to the WWF North Africa region, supporting and enabling entities in Tunisia and Morocco and promoting a culture based on the identified values and behaviours of WWF;
Embeds People & Culture and People Development as key components of WWF North Africa’s OD strategy and provides HR best practice advice to the Director, North Africa and the SMT;
Regularly liaises with Regional Head P&C Europe for global People & Culture resources, and actively engages with the WWF People & Culture Network community;
Works together with WWF North Africa F&A manager to ensure the HR administration processes in the Tunis office.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with Director WWF North Africa, Regional Director MedPO and Regional Head, P&C Europe in promoting P&C best practice; and ensuring a robust and systematic approach to P&C processes and procedures;
Communicates/promotes People Development opportunities such as e-campus, global onboarding, secondments, external training in the region and helping to align all three COs in approach;
Supports Director North Africa, to ensure that core Network standards, such as Safeguards training, Respect in the Workplace, Diversity & Inclusion, Health and safety, etc. are understood, respected and strictly upheld by all staff;
Responsible for ensuring efficient and legally compliant HR Services and administration, across the region, recommending improvements as necessary, working closely with the Head, P&C Europe;
Plays an advisory role into the OD strategy for WWF North Africa from a P&C perspective.
Responsible for identifying WWF North Africa talents at the regional level facilitating career development and succession planning;
Provides support and guidance to leadership on the Compensation & Benefits Strategy;
Manages recruitment of all roles in the region, respecting KPIs concerning gender & diversity, in liaison with the senior management team;
Facilitates and supports management with the performance management system (PDJ), championing continuous feedback and objectives setting cycles, supporting people managers in the performance review and feedback cycle and keeping track of performance reviews;
Manages the human resources administration processes in the WWF North Africa Tunis office, including drafting staff contracts, payroll management, timesheets, leave and holidays, sickness leave, other HR related administrative procedures;
Actively participates in Global P&C community on key network wide initiatives and connects with the P&C community in Europe;
Identifies capacity gaps in the region;
Performs other duties as assigned by the director of WWF North Africa.

Working Relationships:

Internal: Reports to the WWF North Africa Director with a dotted line to the Regional Head, People & Culture- Europe, WWF International; works closely with the F&A manager on all HR administrative procedures. Interacts with the Regional Director Europe, MEDPO senior management, Global Director P&C Country Offices, WWF International People & Culture team. Works closely with the People & Culture Network community.

External: Contact with external bodies will mainly include executive search companies, external HR partners and providers, Tunisian public authorities and HR/legal consultants as required by performing HR administration functions.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • A professional Human Resources qualification or equivalent tertiary education;
  • A minimum of 7 years professional experience in Human Resources ideally with experience in dealing with HR operational issues in the North Africa region, particularly in Tunisia.
  • Required Skills and Competencies:
  • High degree of accountability, commitment to excellence; and integrity in relations with colleagues;
  • Strong operational hands-on skills, and a well-organised approach to work, and attention to detail;
  • Ability to train others and explain complex concepts in a simple manner, including virtually;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with and influence senior management and relevant staff in different functional areas in a positive manner;
  • Experience of operating in different cultural environments;
  • Ability to drive change and performance, as well as to identify and provide solutions that benefit the organisation;
  • Decisive, proactive, collaborative;
  • Excellent written and spoken English, French & Arabic;
  • Available to travel as required in the region;
  • Passion and commitment for conservation and sustainable development;
