Title: Project Support Coordinator

1. BACKGROUND
The USAID-funded Visit Tunisia Activity is a 5-year project designed to enhance Tunisia’s tourism potential, with the goal of generating revenue and jobs, particularly for women and youth, and for populations in underserved regions of the country. The overall vision behind USAID’s investment in Tunisia’s tourism sector is to capitalize on Tunisia’s natural, cultural,
heritage and historical sites to develop a more diversified and high-quality tourism sector that contributes to broad-based economic growth. Through this activity, USAID seeks to contribute to Tunisia’s growth and development to offset the negative economic impact of the coronavirus crisis. The project will seek to achieve the following four objectives:
- Objective 1: Enhance Tunisia’s competitiveness as a tourism destination; • Objective 2: Increase tourism-related investments and revenue;
- Objective 3: Improve the enabling environment for sustained growth in the tourism sector; • Objective 4: Private sector engagement to expand the offer and quality of alternative tourism.
This project will collaborate with the relevant ministries, private sector, and donors to advance the objectives while contributing to the following high-level results:
- Increase in the number of tourists.
- Increase in the number of jobs in the tourism sector.
- Increase in tourism revenue.
- Increase in private sector-led investment and innovation in the tourism sector.
2. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Support Coordinator will provide general support to the Business Enabling Environment Component under the USAID Visit Tunisia Activity. Such direction should be consistent with the technical proposal for USAID Visit Tunisia Activity as modified from time to time in collaboration with USAID Tunisia.
- DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Support Coordinator will:
- Work under the guidance of the Component Team Leader, support the implementation of component goals through technical and administrative support.
- With Component Team Leader guidance, to support coordination of the technical work of consultants recruited for activities, including compiling meeting agendas and meeting minutes, review of technical reports, presentations, and other deliverables. Cross checking that consultants’ deliverables agreed with the scope of work and that reports are in accordance with USAID Visit Tunisia Activity and Chemonics International standards.
- Assist in and support preparation of assessment reports for assigned projects. • Monitor progress of project activities according to the Component work plan. • Provide up-to-date, quantitative, and qualitative information for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Support the preparation of success stories, project impacts and results from project work undertaken.
- Contribute to the close collaboration with the communications department in coordinating the various public relations events and media campaigns related to the Component activities. • Coordinate logistical arrangements for component events, workshops, seminars, and other training activities to achieve project activities objectives.
- Participate in meetings, workshops and functions as required.
- Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports describing activities, results, impacts and challenges.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

- QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in both French and English.
- Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, partners, and the public.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to prioritize work assignments, to meet deadlines, and to exercise good, professional judgment that reflects positively on the image of USAID Visit Tunisia Activity and Chemonics International.
- Ability to effectively use computer software, MS Office applications and other reporting software.
- Excellent writing and oral presentation skills.

- LEVEL OF EFFORT AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
This position is long-term, on a full-time basis.
- LOCATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT
This assignment will be based in Tunis, Tunisia with potential travel to regional locations pending project needs. The office maintains a five-day work week. Overtime is not authorized.
