Project Officer on Migration and Human Rights
Organization: The Danish Institute for Human Rights
Location: Tunis, Tunisia (with travel to Egypt)
Duration: March 2025 – February 2026

About the Project :
The MediRights project under the Regional Migration Governance Programme (RMGP) focuses on enhancing human rights protections and promoting gender- sensitive approaches in migration management in Tunisia and Egypt. The Project Officer will support the local Advisor in implementing project objectives and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders.
Main Tasks :
• Collaborate with the migration team in Copenhagen, Tunisia, and Egypt to achieve project targets.
• Assist the local Advisor in providing technical support and capacity building to state and migration governance actors.
• Apply the Institute’s human rights concepts and methods throughout the project.
• Contribute to activity implementation and idea development.
• Support logistical arrangements, budget planning, and tracking.
• Assist with annual narrative and financial reporting to the donor.
• Support project monitoring and evaluation, including outcome harvesting.
Role Profile :
• Knowledge of human rights in the Middle East and North Africa.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience with project work.
Qualifications and Experience :
• Preferably a master’s degree in political science, international law, sociology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a project officer or assistant.
• Experience with migration governance actors or similar state actors.
• Experience in politically sensitive contexts.
• Knowledge of donor-funded international development or human rights capacity building projects is an advantage.
• Previous experience with International Organizations or INGOs is an asset.
• Full proficiency in Arabic and French, and professional proficiency in English are mandatory.
Conditions of Consultancy :
• Based in Tunis, Tunisia, with possible travel to Egypt and other countries as needed.
• Applicants must have permits to work and reside in Tunisia.
• Consultant is responsible for applicable taxes on remuneration.
• Monthly salary range (1,500- 1,700 EUR)
• During this consultancy, a secondary occupation is not foreseen from our side.
