BEDER Organization is a non-profit that was founded by a group of civil society activists after the revolution in January 2011.

 

The revolutionary spark encouraged an entire generation to rebuild an inclusive country based on the values of respect, dignity, justice and equal chances. Our organization ensures that during this transition, the values that were defended in the revolution are protected and translated into tangible, transformative and effective actions.

 

Our main interest is to increase and diversify the possibilities of community development in Tunisia. We work on this mission by increasing and accelerating the impact of local actors and stakeholders as well as by cultivating the leadership needed for this change and the community resilience that will sustain it.

 

Our organization creates the potential for improvement on a fundamental level that satisfies the needs of the Tunisian society.

 

Project Summary:

The SABEEL Project is a multi-faceted initiative designed to empower and reintegrate formerly incarcerated individuals into society. The project employs diverse strategies such as establishing peer-support systems, facilitating capacity development among stakeholders, and promoting public-private partnerships for beneficiary economic opportunities. Additionally, SABEEL works towards reducing the stigma surrounding formerly incarcerated individuals through strategic communications while emphasizing mental health support and socio-economic reintegration. The project also supports research on post-release reintegration through academic collaborations, professional development for researchers, and strategic engagement with key stakeholders.

 

About the position:

  • Managing communications and acting as the liaison between project stakeholders, including beneficiaries, project partners, government counterparts, and the broader community.
  • Overseeing a safe space and peer-support activities for formerly incarcerated individuals;
  • Mobilising a network of third-party service providers (e.g. NGOs, institutions, businesses) to contribute to the reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals including through training, psycho-social support and professional development opportunities;
  • Building and maintaining close relationships with partners, local ministry staff, and collaborating agencies to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the various project activities including post-release peer-support systems, stigma messaging, and research and outreach efforts.
  • Preparing and facilitating project-related trips and meetings, including arranging schedules, planning activities, and managing logistics.
  • Collaborating closely with the project team and partners to ensure activities are implemented according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the project’s objectives are met.
  • Leading the dissemination and application of the SABEEL tools and protocols to the relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries.
  • Writing comprehensive activity reports and weekly progress reports on project implementation, meeting notes, and other relevant documentation.
  • Conducting analysis of program implementation to identify areas for improvement and propose appropriate technical strategies and guidelines.
  • Delivering presentations at professional meetings, responding to partners’ inquiries, and representing the project in various forums.
  • In coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, overseeing the implementation of impact evaluation, including data collection at various project stages and collection of administrative data.
  • Managing logistics and field operations related to site visits and collaborations with project partners and beneficiaries in their respective areas of intervention.
  • Ensuring comprehensive documentation of project activities and maintaining robust data storage systems, while adhering to confidentiality and data privacy standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, public administration, or a related field. A master’s degree will be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Experience in managing projects related to social justice, rehabilitation, reintegration or a similar field is highly desirable.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, partnership development, and public-private collaborations.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, from conception to completion.
  • Previous experience with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of projects.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on technical English writing.
  • Proven ability to write and formulate terms of reference for projects.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders including government officials, CSOs, academic institutions, and the private sector.

 

Other:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of social justice and equality.
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required. Proficiency in other languages would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project implementation and monitoring.
