Context
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Under the overall supervision of the IOM Tunisia Chief of Mission and of the Project Manager and the direct supervision of the National Legal Officer, the successful candidate will support with the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the activities in the area of rule of law and access to Justice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In particular he/she will:
- Support the implementation of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Assist in monitoring budget and updating budget related information.
- Support administrative organization for project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions.
- Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
- Support the organization of meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Prepare documents for the payment of activities in coordination with procurement unit.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma with three years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
- Experience with governmental authorities, the UN and / or other national/international institutions.
- Experience in working on project implementation.
- Knowledge of Tunisia and regional issues in the thematic area of migration in relation to the legal framework is a distinct advantage.
- Good drafting skills and clear oral communication.
- Strong analytical skills on legal matters.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
For all applicants, fluency in French is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of Arabic and English.

- This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
