Tunisian – Swiss Intellectual Property Project
The Tunisian-Swiss Intellectual Property Project (TUSIP) is an international cooperation project with the goal “to contributing to entrepreneurs, creators, researchers and producers in Tunisia benefitting from effective intellectual property protection”.
The project is funded by the State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO) of Switzerland and implemented by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI). The IPI is the Swiss centre of competence for intellectual property matters.
We are looking for a
Project Associate
The position offers engaging and diversified work in technical cooperation with national and international partners and experts. The incumbent will be in charge of the day-to-day implementation, on the ground coordination and administration of the project, and gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience of intellectual property in the context of capacity development.
Duration: 4 years (2022-2025)
Location: Tunis, Tunisia
∙ Plan, support and monitor the project implementation work plan and related activities in Tunisia and, if required, participate in project activities in other countries;
∙ Schedule project related meetings and coordination calls with respective Swiss and Tunisian counterparts, and other related stakeholders, incl. preparing agendas and writing up meeting minutes; ∙ Prepare and participate in project missions: propose mission agenda, confirm meetings, arrange logistics such as hotel bookings and transportation;
∙ Report to IPI on the progress of the project in coordination calls and progress reports for SECO; ∙ Arrange assignments and contracts with sub-contractors in Tunisia;
∙ Manage local fund administration and arrange disbursements; and
∙ Network and maintain close relationships with other development partners and agencies. Your Profile
Essential Mandatory Requirements for Qualification and Experience of the Project Associate
∙ Relevant university degree with additional training in business or project administration ∙ 6 years of experience, at least 4 years in managing the implementation of development and cooperation projects comparable with the present mandate in terms of scope and complexity
∙ Relevant experience in working with the Tunisian government and public institutions ∙ Relevant expertise and experience in capacity building and institutional strengthening ∙ Experience with managing participatory processes with the involvement of different stakeholders at national level
∙ Fluent in Tunisian Arabic and a working proficiency in English and French, both in speaking and writing skills (either certificate C1 or 6 years of proven working experience in English and French speaking mandates), in order to also translate and interpret between Arabic, English and French ∙ Strong inter-cultural competence, organisational and team skills
∙ Excellent reporting skills
∙ Experience in fund management
∙ Basic IT skills and willingness to learn how to use a new accounting software ∙ Proactive, willingness to travel and networking skills
Strong Asset
∙ Prior knowledge of intellectual property and related matters
