Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG) is a Tunisian non-profit organization established on December 13, 2021, in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 2011-88 of September 24, 2011, on the organization of associations to promote social cohesion in Tunisia. ICCG is a Tunisian peacebuilding NGO that aims to promote sustainable social cohesion in Tunisian society through conflict transformation.

ICCG’s strategy includes promoting a culture of dialogue and diversity by involving all parts of society while building their capacities. ICCG works to help members of Tunisian society address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. ICCG works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences, and act on common points. ICCG’s main strategic objectives include: To
– Contribute to peacebuilding in Tunisia by promoting a culture of dialogue and education for peace citizenship tolerance and coexistence.
– Contribute to the promotion of social and economic inclusion and the protection of vulnerable groups.

– Contribute to strengthening governance and citizen participation in public life. – Supporting coordination and cooperation mechanisms between institutional structures, associations, the private sector, and the media.
– Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance and contributing to the prevention of social vulnerability.
About the project:
ICCG is implementing a 18-month project titled “My school – Attractive, open and Inclusive- جاذبة مدرستي ودامجة ومنفتحة “targeting 128 schools, located in the regions of Kairouan and Siliana. The project is funded by GCERF, and implemented by ICCG and its two partners, the Tunisian Scout and the National Union of Tunisian Women (UNFTK), under the auspices of the Tunisian National Counter-Terrorism Commission (CNLCT) and the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The overall objective of the project is to increase community resilience to violent extremism through a more attractive, open, inclusive school. The project will implement innovative education tools and approaches to address factors, potentially, leading to school drop-out and risky behavior in Tunisian schools.
The expected results of the project are as follows:
- New mechanisms and innovative educational approaches based on values are firmly established in the target Tunisian schools to create a resilient environment for students in Siliana and Kairouan promoting human rights, women’s rights, and the values of peace.
- Sustainable innovative initiatives involving different members of the community and promoting more active participation of women are implemented, with the aim of preventing violence, risky behavior, and school dropout among students.
We are searching for… ICCG is recruiting a Project Assistant to support the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of its activities. s/he will lead the planning and implementation of program activities, report directly to the ICCG Program Manager, and liaise with relevant partners and target beneficiaries in the different project locations. S/he prepares activity and monthly / Quarterly reports for the donor.
The project assistant will be supported by the sub-grant assistant and other departments of ICCG. Your contribution
The roles and responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain an updated work plan and oversee the effective implementation of planned activities to the highest results, in a timely manner and within budget.
- Ensure progress on all activities, liaising with project partners and external consultants.
- Be the focal point with project partners.
- Prepare activities reports as well as narrative reports for donors, in compliance with ICCG and donor requirements and in collaboration with ICCG finance department.
- Oversee in collaboration with ICCG M&E department the monitoring and evaluation aspects of the projects to ensure that M&E frameworks are in place and implemented to document progress towards the project’s (un-)intended results.
- Conduct Field visit to monitor the implementation of the project activities in the two target governorates (Siliana and Kairouan)
- Support the effective tracking and forecasting of project expenditures by the project team through budget versus actuals (BVA) meetings, in line with the approved budget and work plan for both ICCG and partners.
- Support the identification and preparation of contract agreements with consultants, experts, or any contractors as needed for the projects.
- Represents ICCG when needed at local and international events and meetings for professional organizations, vendors, partners, and funders. Develops skills to independently initiate and maintain relations with vendors, partners, and funders.
- Articulates ICCG program/project goals and objectives within ICCG and to external audiences.
- Recognizes the options available for solving problems, conducts analyses and calculates metrics and other technical tools to support informed decision-making.
Other duties that are broadly in line with the above key contributions as assigned.
You are… You meet the following qualifications:
Education
- Advanced university degree in international development, conflict resolution, project management, or related field.
Professional Experience
- At least 3 years of INGO or CSO experience in project implementation or management, preferably in the fields of peacebuilding.
- Strong project management skills covering different aspects such as activities planning and implementation, and partner coordination.
- Good knowledge of youth mobilization and engagement strategies and approaches.
- Knowledge of aspects related to diversity and inclusion.
- Previous training facilitation experience would be an asset.
- Written and oral proficiency in English;/ written and oral proficiency in French would be an asset.
- Strong and proven ability in report writing in English.
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office and Excel).

Duration: 12-month contract with 2-month probation period.
