Organizational Context and Scope:
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Under the direct supervision of the IOM Tunisia Head of Protection and Health Unit, the successful candidate will be tasked to assist the development, implementation and reporting of the projects in relation to empowering the youth to prevent irregular migration of the Protection and Health Unit. The projects in the area of empowering the youth aim to support and accompany youth at risk of irregular migration to explore possible alternatives. A full mechanism will be implemented which aims to strengthen national capacities to provide empowerment services to youth through technical support and tools, facilitating cross-sectoral coordination, establishing national networks and referral mechanisms, and provide trainings and conferences to exchange lessons learnt and good practices.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
High School Degree/Certificate degree, preferably in business administration, human resources, psychology, or other similar domain from an accredited academic institution and three years of relevant professional experience; or bachelor’s or equivalent or Higher degree in the above fields with one year of relevant professional experience.
Experience:
− Sound knowledge of financial and administrative skills;
− Experience in Labour Migration, Migration and Development;
− Knowledge/Experience in employment and youth empowerment;
− Strong organizational and planning skills;
− Excellent time management skills;
− Excellent verbal and written communication skills in all three languages (Arabic, French, English); − Attention to details and problem-solving skills;
− Experience working with government counterparts, private sector, international organizations and/or non-governmental organizations (NGO) is an asset;
− Capacity to work effectively and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds;
− Experience with Microsoft Office products; especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Languages:
Fluency in French, Arabic and English (written and spoken) is required.
