ABOUT IFES/TUNISIA
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is a global leader in democracy promotion. The IFES Tunisia office is dedicated to supporting the capacity of electoral institutions, engaging youth and marginalized communities, and promoting inclusive and active participation across all segments of society.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project and Communications Officer (PCO) will oversee and implement a range of project activities while ensuring effective communication strategies are utilized to enhance program visibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities
The Project and Communications Officer’s primary responsibilities include:
Project management
- Manage a portfolio of projects in line with IFES’ strategic objectives and donor requirements. • Lead planning, preparation, logistic arrangements, and implementation of project activities. • Ensure compliance with project documents, donor requirements, and IFES policies. • Maintain effective communication with local and international partners.
- Prepare and contribute to periodic reports detailing project progress and impact. • Collaborate closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer to ensure the collection of relevant data and compliance with the results management framework.
Communication
- Serve as the focal point for all communication-related activities within the office, ensuring strategic messaging and brand consistency across platforms and based on donor requirements.
- Develop, update, and manage the creation of communication materials including one-pagers, fact sheets, and newsletters.
- Manage and enhance IFES Tunisia’s online presence through strategic and engaging content on social media platforms.
- Monitor media coverage and online engagement metrics to adjust strategies as needed.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- University degree in project management, business administration, international relations, law, political science, or a related fields; Master’s degree highly preferred.
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in project management and in communication with NGOs or intergovernmental organizations, particularly those focused on democracy and governance.
- Excellent reporting and drafting skills.
- Experience with donor-funded projects, familiarity with US government funding preferred.
Skills and Specifications
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with strong emphasis on clear and effective writing and editing.
- Proficiency in MS Office; mastery of project management and content management software (such as WordPress, Hootsuite, etc.) is a plus.
- Proven experience in content management systems, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and layout, capable of producing visually appealing communication materials.
- Fluent in French and Arabic; proficiency in English is desirable.
- Detail-oriented, creative, and dependable.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Travel
- Willingness to travel in-country to monitor project activities.
