THE ORGANISATION: Islamic Relief has been operating in Tunisia since 2011 primarily as a response to the influx of refugees during the Libya Crisis. Since registering an office in Tunisia in 2012, Islamic Relief has set up and managed camps on the Tunisian border and provided humanitarian services to over 15,000. As well as supporting refugees, forced migrants, Islamic Relief has implemented projects in education, WASH, Livelihood and child welfare and protection sectors as well as supporting capacity building of local associations.
PURPOSE OF DEPARTMENT: The department reinforces IRW’s implementing structure to enable these people and their communities to develop themselves sustainable, and ensures that the organization is prepared to respond promptly and effectively to humanitarian crises. The department increases the organisation’s ability to tackle poverty by developing and fostering partnerships and institutional relationships effectively and proactively, and by ensuring transparent and timely reporting to the organisation’s donors.
JOB PURPOSE: The Volunteer under the supervision of the programme manager will support the programme team by:
• Support the Programme Manager in the administrative, logistic and financial tasks
• Providing support to the planning and implementation of projects related activities when requested
• Support the archiving and documentation of the projects related documents
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
• Has regular contact with the programme Manager, to follow up with the projects’ activities and admin-fin-log tasks
• Work closely with Programme staff and all other departments
SCOPE AND AUTHORITY
Scope of the Role:
Reporting to the Programme manager, support the programme team in the projects’ related activities. He liaises with support departments to facilitate the implementation of activities.
The Volunteer will provide support in the implementation and monitoring of projects once needed or requested by the programme manager.
Responsibility for Resources:
The program volunteer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and monitoring of projects activities, ensures that all projects related information are organized, documented and accessible.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The job holder is accountable for fulfilling his or her roles and responsibilities in line with Islamic values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect and fair treatment of his/her colleagues and staff.
1. Key Accountability 1:
Support in the implementation of projects activities provided by IRW
2. Key Accountability 2:
Support to monitoring of activities, evaluation and ensure quality reporting
3. Key Accountability 3:
Coordination and liaison with finances, logistics and administration to provide support to the Projects implementation.
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
R.1. Programme Development:
1.1. Participate in the Implementation of the Project’s activities according to the Proposal and DIP
1.2. Prepare official letters and invitations.
1.3. Provide support to the Program team/ Participate in the planning and implementation of projects activities when requested by the Program Manager.
1.4. Participate in the design and preparations of new Concept Notes and Proposals
1.5. Participates in the preparation of internal and external report when needed
1.13. Prepare Field Visit, activities completion reports and evaluation reports of all conducted activities.
1.14. Prepare and submit quality case studies and success Stories to The Program Manager
1.15. Document and prepare meeting minutes of different meetings and events.
1.16. Participate in the need assessment missions conducted by IR or other partner organizations conducted within the project area
1.17. Participate in workshops, training sessions or any other forums with line manager approval
R.2. Monitoring and supervision:
1.1. Monitors the implementation of the planned activities
1.2. Ensure coordination of project activities with the staff and different stakeholders under the supervision of the Program Manager
R.3. Internal Controls and Reporting:
1.3. Prepare Field Visit, activities completion reports and evaluation reports of all conducted activities.
1.4. Prepare and submit quality case studies and success Stories to the Program Manager
R.4. Networking and Communication:
1.5. Attends meetings with projects team.
1.6. Participate in workshops, training sessions or any other forums with line manager approval or nomination.
R.5.Supervisory Responsibilities:
5.1 Supervision Received: The position will receive instructions from Program Manager.
SPECIAL NOTE:
The employee holding this job must expect that his / her performance will be measured in part against the standard set forth in his/her JD. However, the JD is subject to revision to further the consistent with positions level of responsibilities may be necessary to fulfil IR objective in the country.
WORKING CONDTIONS:
Tunis is the employee duty station.
The employee may be required to perform assignments after his/her working hours and on holidays beside field trips to field offices.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
It is essential that the post holder show good understanding of the Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Worldwide vision and mission.
Essential:
Education, Qualifications & Experience Required:
• Qualification: University degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education.
• 1 year of experience in the area of development and humanitarian sector
• Ability to work with a team for long hours and during holiday
• Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English and working knowledge in French, both spoken and written, is required.

• Experience to work with vulnerable communities,
• Good knowledge of filling work procedure
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build and lead teams.
