Islamic Relief has been operating in Tunisia since 2011 primarily as a response to the influx of refugees during the Libya Crisis. Since registering an office in Tunisia in 2012, Islamic Relief has set up and managed camps on the Tunisian border and provided humanitarian services to over 15,000. As well as supporting refugees, forced migrants, Islamic Relief has implemented projects in education, health, WASH, Livelihood and food security and child welfare and protection sectors as well as supporting capacity building of local associations.
The department reinforces IRW’s implementing structure to enable these people and their communities to develop themselves sustainable, and ensures that the organization is prepared to respond promptly and effectively to humanitarian crises. The department increases the organisation’s ability to tackle poverty by developing and fostering partnerships and institutional relationships effectively and proactively, and by ensuring transparent and timely reporting to the organisation’s donors.
Project: This 24-month project will provide support to women groups in Jendouba governorate to achieve a sustainable increase in productive capacity, both on and off farm, and will offer an increased access to economic and social opportunities, through organizational capacity building and networking, training in entrepreneurial skills, provision of material and equipment, enterprise management, which promotes women’s social and economic skills and network to increase autonomy and empowerment. The main purpose of this project is to conserve natural resources to ensure the durability of these income generating. The project will also invest in the realization of important rural infrastructure for the benefit of disadvantaged regions of the country and to create a dynamic of local development. This project also works towards the Sustainable Development Goals of promoting gender equality and empowering women, decent work and economic growth. The project participatory approach in its implementation, in the new context post revolution where citizens’ voice is released, will contribute to improve governance at the local level to involve and empower beneficiaries and civil society in the development of their region.

SCOPE AND AUTHORITY
Scope of the Role:
Reporting to the Project officer and the project coordinator, the programme Volunteer will participate in the planning and implementation of the Project’s related activities (structuring of women groups, provision of trainings, and provision of productive tools…) and ensure that the programme meets Islamic Relief Quality Standards.
The programme Volunteer will provide support in the implementation and monitoring of other projects such as the orphan sponsorship programme (OSP) implemented in the base location once needed or requested by The project coordinator.
Responsibility for Resources:
The programme Volunteer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and monitoring of women empowerment project’s activities, ensures that all project related information is organized, documented and accessible. He/she will also be responsible for supporting the Orphans Sponsorship Programme (OSP) activities. Any decisions that have direct impact on both projects activities should only be made after referring to the Project coordinator.
It is worth noting that this position will receive instructions from Project Officer and Regional Coordinator.
The job holder is accountable for fulfilling his/her roles and responsibilities in line with Islamic values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect and fair treatment of his/her colleagues and staff.
1.1. Conducts and document needs assessments and baseline survey.
1.2. Ensures to fill in surveys forms for all beneficiaries.
1.3. Participate in the open days and meetings with project’s beneficiaries
1.4. Participate in the Implementation of the Project’s activities according to the Proposal and DIP
1.5. Ensures daily implementation of the activities
1.6. Document the Project’s Steering Committee Meetings
1.7. Prepare official letters and invitations.
1.8. Participate in the regular update of the trimestral DIPs
1.9. Prepare monthly Work plans in Coordination with relevant staff members.
1.10. Participate in the planning and implementation of other Projects implemented in the Base location
1.11. Provide support to the Program team in other developmental Projects one needed or requested by Regional Coordinator.
1.12. Participate in the design and preparations of new Concept Notes and Proposals
1.13. Participates in the preparation of quarterly and annual action plan for the implementation and management of the project;
1.14. Monitors the implementation of the planned Activities
1.15. Documenting in timely manner, all progress, challenges, and learning for future implementation of similar projects and accountability.
1.16. Prepare Field Visit, activities completion reports and evaluation reports of all conducted activities.
1.17. Prepare and submit quality case studies and success Stories to The Project Officer.
1.18. Document and prepare meeting minutes of different meetings and events.
1.19. Participate in the need assessment missions conducted by IR or other partner organizations conducted within the project area
1.20. Participate in workshops, training sessions or any other forums with line manager approval or nomination
1.21. Produce periodic case studies on orphans upon request from CWC;
1.22. Prepare and submit quality case studies and success Stories to The Project Officer
1.23. Identify and record new orphans living in difficult conditions using the orphan’s biodata template
1.24. Hold regular meetings with widows and guardians of orphans in their place of residence;
1.25. Organize social and educational activities for orphans
1.26. Participate in social events of host families (in the case of hospitalization, death or serious illness of orphans and other ceremonies for orphans) and report to the Project Coordinator
1.27. Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the hierarchical supervision.
The volunteer holding this job must expect that his / her performance will be measured in part against the standard set forth in his/her JD. However, the JD is subject to revision to further the consistent with positions level of responsibilities may be necessary to fulfil IR objective in the country.
It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding of the Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Worldwide vision and mission.
