The International Centre for Transitional Justice is an international non-profit organization specializing in the field of transitional justice. ICTJ works across society and borders to challenge the causes and address the consequences of massive human rights violations. We affirm victims’ dignity, fight impunity, and promote responsive institutions. ICTJ seeks a Program Assistant for its Libya Program.
 
Main Responsibilities
Office operations:
- Supervise the maintenance and alteration of office areas, as well as housekeeping of office facilities
 
- Take the lead in the procurement of goods and services in compliance with organizational policy and budgetary restrictions
 
- Supervise the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, computers, etc.
 
- Manage vendors and service providers
 
- Maintain office supplies
 
- Coordinate mail and courier services
 
- Create a database/portfolio of Libya program interlocutors
 
Administration:
- Coordinate schedules and all administrative and logistical aspects of meetings, travel and other programming
 
- Manage administrative work such as internal/external correspondence, including drafting meeting notes
 
- Organize and maintain office filing system
 
Financial Duties:
- Assist the Financial Officer and Head of Program in tracking expenses against project budgets to ensure proper spending
 
- Assist in ensuring and monitoring the fulfilment of legal commitments in the administration of personnel and in contracts with third parties
 
Other Functions:
- Collect and analyse data for ICTJ’s DME requirements
 
- Ensure the daily press review about developments related to the transitional justice process
 
- Conduct ad hoc tasks and special projects as needed
 
 
Qualifications
 
- Bachelor’s degree (Licence)
 
- Fluent spoken and written English, Arabic is required. French would be an asset
 
- Bookkeeping experience an asset
 
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
 
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
 
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
 
- Proficiency in MS Office applications 
 
 
Experience
 
- At least one year of experience in similar positions 
 
- Experience in databases and online media an asset
 
- Experience in a non-profit organization an asset
