Production of a Documentary On the Social and Solidarity Economy in Tunisia – OVC Retour vers les opportunités

Context:

Will and Citizenship Organization (OVC) is an NGO founded in 2012 by youth activists, and holds among its principles empowering marginalized youth and women in urban rural areas and promoting social entrepreneurship in southern Tunisia

As part of the implementation of its project entitled “Social and Solidarity Economy to Resolve Social Inequalities”, OVC aims to produce a documentary film that will identify categories of excluded youth based on multiple factors, including regional disparities, gender inequalities, and limited access to education, employment, and social protection. The findings will highlight the key barriers to youth inclusion faced by young women and men in various contexts, particularly in marginalized areas, and describe the perception and reality of youth exclusion from socio-economic opportunities that led to the Tunisian revolution. .

In fact, youth integration is the central theme of post-revolution development priorities. Thus, Will and Citizenship Organization (OVC) aims to improve economic opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable youth in the governorate of Gabes, through an integrated approach offering targeted access to employment and services dedicated to businesses and entrepreneurs as drivers of job creation.

The present TOR has been developed to enable the realization of the abovementioned documentary film.

General objective of the mission:

The overall objective of the mission is to produce a documentary on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) as an alternative growth model that aims to find a new balance between economic efficiency and social and environmental resilience by empowering individuals through greater control over decision-making processes and resources.

Specific objective 1: Mobilize more people (marginalized youth and victims of trafficking) to explore the opportunities of the Social and Solidarity Economy as an alternative to solve social difficulties.

Specific objective 2: Raise awareness of the Social and Solidarity Economy in the targeted communities.

Technical Requirements:

The documentary must meet the following criteria:

• Length: at least 30-40 minutes
• Language: Arabic / subtitles: English
• Filming: documentary shot in different locations
• Interviews, voice over commentary, opening and closing credits, sound and visual effects

Scope and focus of assignment:

Under the direct supervision of OVC, the service provider will perform the following tasks:

• Develop the overall concept and script for the documentary.
• Conduct appropriate video shoots and interviews with project beneficiaries and stakeholders.
• Present a draft of the documentary for feedback on content.
• Produce a final documentary of 30-40 minutes in length.
• The entire production of the documentary, i.e., writing, interviews, filming, editing, voice/narration, subtitles, etc., shall be done by the contractor. The contractor shall provide a final broadcast-ready product in HD format. The entire development and production process will be closely monitored by OVC who will provide ongoing review, feedback and thematic support as needed.

Timeframe:

The mission is expected to last 15 working days from the date of contract signature.
