SPARK is currently implementing a four-year programme called LEAD: Local Employment for Africa Development. The program supports entrepreneurs & SME’s through tailored coaching, training and access to markets. As part of its intervention, SPARK, in partnership with the Tunisian Center for Social Entrepreneurship (TCSC) and the University ESPRIT, will organise a 3-day training in Social Entrepreneurship to approximately 50 young students (up to 25 years old) following the format of 2 Social Entrepreneurship camps. Each session will host 25 students in 2 different groups. The Social Entrepreneurship camp is specifically designed for students who are passionate about social entrepreneurship and want to learn more about building a business with social impact and creating a business plan that reflect social impact.    

 

The objective of the Social Entrepreneurship camp is to equip the students with the necessary tools and skills to become successful social entrepreneurs by teaching them the core skills of social entrepreneurship and help them understand the key elements involved in creating a viable business idea and developing a bankable business plan. 

 

By the end of the 3 days, participants should have a thorough understanding of social entrepreneurship and doing business, and will submit completed business plans. 

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

 

The responsibilities and tasks of the Social Entrepreneurship trainer include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop relevant training material, including any hand out material
  • Deliver the 3-day training to students; ensuring methodology includes interactive tools and activities, while also providing case studies and real examples/exercises.
  • Collecting the business plans and ensure the quality of business plans as required by this mission
  • Produce an end-of training report summarizing training (conclusions & recommendations) including students’ feedback and evaluation

 

By the end of the training, the students should be able to do the following: 

  • Understand the key principles required to introduce a new product or service, including understanding competition and market competitiveness
  • Undertake knowledgeable analysis and  assessment of business opportunities
  • Understand risk and how to minimize uncertainties
  • Understand the financial and legal aspects of launching a Social Enterprise
  • Submit final business plan 
  • Be ready to launch a Social Enterprise

 

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business, Management or a relevant field;
  • Holds a trainer certification is a plus
  • Experience of managing, starting or owning a business 
  • Knowledge of the Tunisian context of Social Entrepreneurship
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear instructions
  • Interpersonal skills, with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in delivering trainings in Social Entrepreneurship
  • Presentation skills – structuring and communicating ideas, using visual and other adequate tools
  • Facilitation skills – managing activities, eliciting contributions and learning in an innovative way
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in French and Arabic  
  • Hands-on attitude and willing to help out flexibly if required;
