Consultancy purpose

To support the Oxfam Country Office in advancing their media and communication strategy, plans and practices.

Contract Duration: Three months (renewable depending based on need, performance and funding)
Location: Based in Tunis, Tunisia
Fees & Conditions: Negotiable within the Oxfam budget and policies
Starting date: As soon as possible
Reporting to: Country Director (CD)

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Over the duration of the contract, the Media & Communication Consultant is expected to provide support to the team and programs by focussing on:

•  Develop a media and communication strategy for the Country Office together with the team and in line of the Oxfam International medial and communication policies and global and regional steers.
• Develop a Media & Communication strategic direction and plan for three programs in line with the CO overall strategy as well as donors’ requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to the Program Team to support partners’ efforts in setting and advancing their Oxfam relevant ‘media & communication’ strategies and plans.
•  Develop a branding strategy that is fit for and relevant to the CO and Programs.
•  Assist in identifying new innovative media angles and approaches.
• Contribute to achieving quality, efficiency and impact of the Oxfam media and communication efforts, taking into consideration potential Oxfam brand risks.
• Write press releases, statements, stories, and other media/communications material for public use; where needed.
• Under the supervision of the CD and in close coordination with the Programs team, to support the development of the necessary media and communication materials (written and audio visual), talking points and other relevant communications material.
•  Lead and coordinate the updating and management of content in both English and Arabic on the Oxfam Country profile on the website, as well as other social media accounts.
