Title: Operations Intern
Length of Assignment: 3 months (could be renewable one time)
Reports to: Operations and Finance Director
- BACKGROUND
The USAID-funded Visit Tunisia Activity is a 5-year project designed to enhance Tunisia’s tourism potential, with the goal of generating revenue and jobs, particularly for women and youth, and for populations in underserved regions of the country. The overall vision behind USAID’s investment in Tunisia’s tourism sector is to capitalize on Tunisia’s natural, cultural,
heritage and historical sites to develop a more diversified and high-quality tourism sector that contributes to broad-based economic growth. Through this activity, USAID seeks to contribute to Tunisia’s growth and development to offset the negative economic impact of the coronavirus crisis. The project will seek to achieve the following four objectives:
- Objective 1: Enhance Tunisia’s competitiveness as a tourism destination; • Objective 2: Increase tourism-related investments and revenue;
- Objective 3: Improve the enabling environment for sustained growth in the tourism sector; • Objective 4: Private sector engagement to expand the offer and quality of alternative tourism.
- POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Operations Intern will support a variety of HR, administrative and logistic support duties for Operations and Finance unit.
- DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
HR support:
- Assist the HR manager in the setup of interviews in coordination with interview panel. • Collect required reference check and biodata documentation
- Assist the HR manager on collecting the monthly approved timesheets • Assist on building up the hard copies of the personal files.
Office administration support:
- Assist the Operations Manager in the management of office administration (Cleaning, visitors records keeping and reception desk, STEG, SONEDE, etc.).
- Supervise Official meetings plan and tracking of related logistics.
- Prepare, design, and consolidate reports/minutes/memo of important meeting • Supervise cleaning women and tracking of office cleaning or functional supplies needs. • Monitor transportation plan tracker and respond to related logistics day to day tasks. • Coordinate with project drivers to follow transportation plan.
Procurement & Finance support:
- Assist in the journey management and TAAR forms tracking.
- Support in the organization of events, workshops and trainings (booking, Lodging, invoices tracking…)
- Assist in disbursement of WHT certificates to vendors and collect of invoices.
- Assist operations and finance team on any printing/scan and deliveries of official project documents.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field; accounting, business administration or equivalent
- Experience in administration, operations, logistics or related field is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in English & French: excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and other basic computer applications.
PS/Position is not open to graduated candidates.

The Operations Intern will report to the Operations and Finance Director
