Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Human Resources Officer.
About the job
Under the supervision of the Head of Support Services and the technical management of the Human Resources Coordinator, the Human Resources Officer will be responsible in supporting in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, performance, development, compensation and benefits, HR administration within the coordination office in Tunis, Algeria, Zarzis and Libya.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Human Resources
- Collect, update, and provide to the HR Coordinator monthly recruitment reports for Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia operations.
- Create and maintain recruitment files for all recruitment
- Support orientation process (schedule induction and provide HR induction for all new staff) and inform admin to follow up with on-arrival arrangements related to visas, accommodations, safety briefs, etc.
- Be responsible for timely and accurate request/preparation of appropriate contracts for employees, volunteers, interns
- Responsible for advertisement preparation of positions Tunisia, Algeria and Zarzis.
- Support ALT operations with the recruitment process.
- Participate in interviews and in the recruitment process until the selected candidate is on board.
- Schedule exit interviews
- Prepare National/Expat Staff contracts and contract extension letters and ensure that all newly hired sign their contract, reads the Self Declaration form, fill in the personal data form and signs the Code of Conduct, and submit requested documents; ID, Passport, diplomas etc…
- Organize, file and update all the human resources documentation such as staff lists, job descriptions, CVs, contracts of employment, leave requests, attendance lists and any other documents related to HR management.
- Support with the implementation of a consolidated learning and development plan
- Support HR coordinator in conducting “Managers training” and learning activities on staff care/Team building
- Support HR Coordinator in conducting/attending salary and benefits surveys, revising national staff salary scales
- Advise hiring managers on compensation rates
- Maintain dynamics data accurate
- Create, extend, and terminate employees on dynamics
- Maintain leave request tracker up to date and update managers on leave balance.
- Follow up with the health insurance plan for local staff in the absence of FP
- Support with payroll preparation with new staff members and update changes
- Prepare work certificates for staff upon request
- Ensure meetings for the senior management team are organized and other administrative support as may be required.
- Any other duties as requested by HoSS and HR Coordinator in relation to the HR department.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 3 years’ experience in HR/administration, in an international NGO in a similar role at mid-management level.
Moreover, we expect the following:
Required
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required Diploma in Business Administration or related area
- University degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or equivalent preferred qualifications
- Fluency in English and Arabic
Desirable
- Working knowledge of French
