Organizational Context and Scope:
Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN organization in the field of migration works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission (CoM), and direct supervision of the project manager for the relevant operational unit within IOM Tunisia, the National Communication and Partnership Officer will be in charge of coordinating the activities related to the project “mobilisation de la diaspora tunisienne et stabilisation des communautés défavorisées en Tunisie” (MOBI-TRE) with particular attention to the awareness campaign on the alternatives to irregular migration planned in the project.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assist the Project Manager in the design of the awareness campaign and the identification of potential partners
- Coordinate with all partners (for public and private sector and NGOs) the effective and timely implementation of planned activities;
- Advise on possible implementation delays or hindrances to the full achievement of the project’s goals;
- Monitor partners activities and ensure the respect of the budgeted expenses and proper reporting from partners and service providers;
- Lead communication efforts to foster a large outreach for the project and oversee service providers when needed;
- Plan and organize training sessions for partners regarding migration management;
- Identify the target audiences and the best means to reach potential candidates for irregular migration in order to maximize the campaign’s impact;
- Plan and organize meetings and events related to the campaign;
- Ensure that the planned outreach activities are in line with IOM’s media and visibility guidelines;
- Prepare internal and external reports, specific briefings covering the project’s activities and elaborate a final report on activities conducted, achievements and lessons learnt;
- Support IOM in all public information activities, including the draft of press briefing notes (PBN); articles for IOM website, social medias, newsletters and mission and project’s reports;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
