Mosta9bali empowers Tunisian youth age 18-23, from Gabes Region, to be active citizens and change-makers in their communities. This year, the program will focus on elements of inclusion of the youth, communities, society, and beyond. Up to 30 young change-makers started the program in October 2017 to:

  • Connect with other young change-makers from Gabes
  • Gain and exchange knowledge about topics such as inclusion, shaping the community, project management, and active citizenship
  • Dream, plan, and implement innovative solutions to local community challenges and realize their first own initiative
  • Get support from a network of peers, mentors, trainers, and partners
  • Strengthen the quality and impact of work done at the local level
  • Co-create an Tunisian network of young, passionate change-makers
    Now we are seeking for 06 voluntary mentors who are committed to encouraging and assisting a team of up to 04 participants (02-04 participants) to develop their initiatives. It is a commitment that requires experience, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to spend the time to ensure a successful relationship.

Mosta9bali mentors must make a commitment to attend the mentoring seminar (12-14 December) and insure the mentoring of two teams (equal two initiatives) on a voluntary basis. Please note that the implementation period of the initiatives is about three months (December-February).

 

Language: All sessions will be offered in French. Want to improve your English? Depending on the participants and the facilitators, some sessions in the seminar could be in English.
Cost: Accommodation, food & transportation will be covered for all participants during the seminar.
The mentoring is a voluntary task, there will be no renumeration in the Mosta9bali project.
About Mosta9bali Program
The Mosta9bali program is running in two regions of Tunisia – on Djerba and in the Gabes Region.
The overall goal of Mosta9bali is to anchor a democratic culture in the society
● by supporting the youth in unfolding their potential as solution makers in their communities,
● by training them in soft and management skills,
● by empowering them through learning by doing in self-developed community initiatives and
● by raising their self-confidence.

We work on strengthening the skills of local associations in communication techniques and conflict management, on citizen relations with the municipality, waste management, promoting eco-tourism, etc.

About Gabes Action Association
We see ourselves as an alternative to the concretization of ideas, a non-political and democratic structure of civil society in Gabes. Our vision is a democratic, prosperous and sustainable society. We participate in sustainable development, particularly in the Gabes region, develop the principles of citizenship and volunteerism, disseminate human rights values and establish collaborative links with other Tunisian and foreign organizations.
