Mercy Corps Tunisia’s strategy adopts a multi-tiered approach to address constraints at the national level, capacity building at the local level; and supporting individual citizens, in particular youth, to build their social capital. Our cross-cutting themes of Peace-building and Citizenship, Gender and Inclusion, Resilience and Migration are integrated into our programs to support an enabling environment in Tunisia where people are empowered, included and engaged with equal access to opportunities.
With our head office in Tunis, we currently have three field offices in Gafsa, Medenine and Jendouba, with programs funded through a variety of donors, including AFD, EC, SDC, Hivos, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ROTA. Our mission, vision and strategy is actualized through the coordinated and effective delivery of each complementary program, and we are constantly seeking to enhance the quality of our implementation in order to maximize the positive impact of our work.
General Position Summary
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will cover the program areas of Gafsa and Medenine. working with the Program Managers, Program Officers and our local partner organizations to oversee and ensure effective M&E planning and implementation in order to guarantee the quality of data and analysis and program learning. S/he will support the Program Managers to ensure that performance monitoring and results reporting tools and processes are in place, are effectively implemented and well synchronized between all programs. The M&E Officer will report to the Senior M&E Officer to ensure that the programs in Gafsa and Medenine meet internal and donor requirements and inform country level program development and impact. S/he work closely with Senior M&E Officer to develop and deliver staff/partner trainings, improving capacities in monitoring and evaluation and database management: data collection, entry, verification and analysis; and other identified needs.
Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership.
Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

A strong team member will be conscientious, with excellent judgement, capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem-solving and attention to detail with strategic vision. S/he must have the confidence, and humility, to work effectively with a large variety of people who will be diverse culturally, economically and in social status. S/he must be sensitive to political and cultural nuance and able to consistently apply excellent judgment to a variety of demanding and fast-changing situations, as well as the ability to foster solid working relationships with Mercy Corps staff, INGOs and CSOs. Working as part of a team as well as strong organizational skills, are essential to this position.
The position is based in (Gafsa, Tunisia) and it requires up to (60 %) travel to (Kasserine, Tunis).
