Summary: World Learning seeks a MENA Regional Coordinator based in Tunis, Tunisia to support the Middle East Partnership Initiative Alumni Engagement hereinafter referred to as “MEPI Alumni Connection Program”. The MENA Regional Coordinator will be a part of overall program implementation including planning, designing, organizing and implementing a MEPI alumni engagement, development and outreach program activities that takes place in the MENA region.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create and edit complex activity materials in English and Arabic;
- Extensively mobilize and liaise with MEPI alumni, relevant stakeholders and partners for effective implementation of in-person and virtual program activities;
- Assist in organizing seminars, meetings, and appointments, and contribute towards the development of learning tools and virtual activities;
- Manage small grants recipients and ensure timely monitoring and mentorship as necessary;
- Research and engage subject matter experts, technical assistance experts, and facilitators across all MENA countries;
- Arrange different aspects of in-person and virtual programming logistics. Duties require knowledge of procurement, vendor relations, financial management and expenses reconciliation;
- Instill strong systems for effective collection and tailoring of success stories, grant updates and activity impact briefs that are aligned with MEPI requirements and templates;
- Support the program’s social media and public presence, including strategic planning, drafting short stories and posts;
- Support integration of DEI goals and practices in internal operations and communications, as well as in program design and implementation;
- Demonstrate a curiosity about World Learning as a whole, with the aim of being able to effectively represent the organization to external audiences commensurate with the position;
- Support an organizational culture of continuous learning through rigorous program monitoring, data tracking, donor and MERL reporting, research and reflection to ensure strong outcomes;
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the MENA Program Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of four years of practical experience in working on international programs is preferred;
- A relevant bachelor’s degree;
- Strong written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English required (Advanced level in French would be beneficial);
- Strong cross-cultural experience with people from across the Middle East and North Africa region;
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with colleagues, or persons with different national and cultural backgrounds;
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, organizational and event planning ability;
- Strong coordination, logistical, and time management skills;
- Strong computer and internet proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations and web-based tools);
- Strong interpersonal and session management skills;
- Working knowledge of Canvas, Formstack, Mailchimp or other learning or participant recruitment/ research management systems;
- Demonstrated knowledge of handling a range of activities and responsibilities while showcasing a set of skills when it comes to adjusting to donor requirements and tight deadlines;
- International work or study experience in the United States preferred; alumni of MEPI, ECA or other USG programs strongly encouraged to apply.
