Title: MENA Program Officer (Tunisia) MEPI Alumni Connection Program

Reports To: MENA Program Manager

Location: Tunis, Tunisia

Summary: World Learning seeks a MENA Program Officer (Tunisia) based in Tunis, Tunisia to support the Middle East Partnership Initiative Alumni Engagement hereinafter referred to as “MEPI Alumni Connection Program”. The MENA Program Officer will be part of overall program implementation including planning, designing, organizing and implementing a MEPI alumni engagement, development and outreach program activities in the MENA region. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Track and update alumni information through alumni communication and outreach methods;
  • Update the database with accurate information and alumni engagement by program, country, age, etc. using established segmentation methods;
  • Produce visually appealing database charts and statistics to be shared with the donor and involved partners;
  • Record alumni engagement in the database and work with colleagues to document updates across different templates;
  • Improve database tracking and documentation templates and database operations and systems;
  • Create and edit complex activity materials in English and Arabic and provide virtual and in-person programming coordination and support;
  • Assist in organizing seminars, meetings, and appointments, and contribute towards the development of learning tools and virtual activities;
  • Research and engage subject matter experts, technical assistance experts, and facilitators across all MENA countries;
  • Tailor complex reports, presentations and overall program updates as requested by the donor; 
  • Support the team with all forms of outreach to increase programmatic engagement;
  • Develop content calendar and communications strategy to highlight MEPI alumni’s success and achievements on various social media platforms; 
  • Provide in-person, virtual event, and campaign communication support through well-targeted live tweeting, social media samples, community management approaches, etc.; 
  • Offer a range of effective community management practices for the program’s social media platforms and groups; 
  • Support colleagues in alumni communication outreach through drafting inspiring stories and communications such as newsletters based on the successes of beneficiaries; 
  • Integrate DEI goals and practices in internal operations and communications, as well as in program design and implementation;
  • Demonstrate a curiosity about World Learning as a whole, with the aim of being able to effectively represent the organization to external audiences commensurate with the position;
  • Support an organizational culture of continuous learning through rigorous program monitoring, data tracking, donor and MERL reporting, research and reflection to ensure strong outcomes;
  • Handle other tasks as assigned by the MENA Program Manager. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of four years of practical experience in working on international programs is preferred;
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree;
  • Solid knowledge of database tracking methods and proficient use of platforms (SPSS, Power Bi, Excel shortcuts, Salesforce, spreadsheets, etc.). Some knowledge in database development languages is preferred but not mandatory; 
  • Experienced in drafting reports and success stories to the donor in English with a sense of tech-savviness to manage Social Media groups and assess its data reports into compelling analysis briefs;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English required (Advanced level in French would be beneficial);
  • Strong cross-cultural experience with people from across the Middle East and North Africa region;
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with colleagues, or persons with different national and cultural backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, organizational and event planning ability; 
  • Strong coordination, logistical, and time management skills;
  •  Strong interpersonal and session management skills;
  • Working knowledge of Canvas, Formstack, Mailchimp or other learning or participant recruitment/ research management systems;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of handling a range of activities and responsibilities while showcasing a set of skills when it comes to adjusting to donor requirements and tight deadlines;
  • International work or study experience in the United States preferred; alumni of MEPI, ECA or other USG programs strongly encouraged to apply.
