Within the framework of the Networks of Mediterranean Youth Project (NET-MED Youth), and under the overall authority of the Chief of Section of the UNESCO Youth Programme in the Social and Human Sciences Sector, the Consultant shall support the visibility and the communication actions under the NET-MED Youth Project.
The NET-MED Youth Project aims at mainstreaming youth issues and priorities across national decision-making and policy implementation by building the capacities of youth and youth organizations as well as of all stakeholders working on youth-related issues; promoting the active engagement of youth in the development and implementation of national policies and strategies on youth; ensuring that youth issues are adequately covered by national and regional media; and identifying workable models for improving youth access to employment and youth inclusion in different sectors.
The Project is funded by the European Union and covers 10 countries from the Western and Eastern Basins of the Mediterranean Sea: Algeria, Egypt,Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syrian Arab Republic and Tunisia.
Main responsibilities
In line with the communication guidelines of UNESCO and EU, the visibility and communication efforts undertaken in the framework of NET-MED Youth should ensure media coverage throughout the Project’s implementation and follow-up, thus raising awareness among young women and men, national authorities, civil society organizations and the general public about the major results achieved.
