Position Title : Senior Project Assistant – SHARE

Contract Type : Special Short Term contract for six months, (the first three months will be considered as probation period), with the possibility of extension.
Context:
The project “Support and Hand-over of Assistance and Referral Mechanisms as well as Exchange of Practices in Anti-Trafficking ” S.H.A.R.E will support the government’s efforts to enact anti-trafficking legislation and through the development of a comprehensive Anti-Trafficking National Action Plan, will work ensure the law’s subsequent implementation; strengthen governmental and non-governmental capacities to counter all forms of trafficking as well as identify and adequately protect victims; raise awareness of trafficking through audio/visual materials and national campaigns involving youth; and to provide direct assistance to victims.
General functions:
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Counter-Trafficking Project Manager and the overall supervision of the IOM Chief of Mission in Tunisia, the project assistant will provide full support to the implementation of the J/TIP (US Department of State/Government Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons) funded project. In particular, the incumbent will:
1- Assist the Counter-Trafficking Project Manager with the overall implementation of the J/TIP (US Department of State/Government Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons) funded project
2- Assist the CT Project Manager in coordinating and liaising with various interlocutors, including governmental entities (e.g. Ministry of Justice), implementing partners, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders working on human trafficking;
3- Support implementation of project activities related to the enactment of the Law to counter trafficking in Tunisia, including meetings with National Assembly representatives to discuss on draft of the Law against trafficking and the Launch Event on the Law once the bill is passed;
4- Assist with the logistics, design and development of the trainings addressed to law enforcement and judiciary officers;
5- Participate as an exponent in the trainings in Arabic, when necessary;
6- Assist with the development and launch of the Guidelines Manual for Law Enforcement and the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Handling Trafficking in Persons Cases in Tunisia.
7- Assist with the development of raising awareness activities and information campaign of the project
8- Provide direct assistance to victims of trafficking, in liaison with local service providers when available;
9- Assist the CT Project Manager with data collection, press reviews and consolidation on trafficking, including beneficiary case data;
10- Provide the CT Project Manager with regular updates on the implementation of project activities;
11- Assist the Counter-Trafficking Project Manager with the interim and final project narrative reports to be submitted to the Donor (US Department of State/JTIP);
12- Contribute to the development of counter-trafficking related project documents for funding, in relation to expressed governmental needs, donor priorities, in coordination with IOM’s Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa and in line with IOM’s mandate and strategy;
13- Undertake duty travel related as required;
14- Perform any other duties as may be assigned
