WeYouth Organization: 

WeYouth is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization founded in 2013 to develop the autonomy, participation and leadership of young people in Tunisia. WeYouth works on several strategic axes, including civic engagement, peace, gender equality and social inclusion, youth economic empowerment and education.

Specific context of the mission: 

The “Ready For Tomorrow” project is a project funded by “Action Aid Arab Region” (AAAR) in partnership with the Arab-Danish Partnership Program (DAPP) and WeYouth Organization, its objective is to improve youth employment indicators in the governorates of Sfax, Gabès, Médenine, and Tataouine. 

The “Ready For Tomorrow” project aims to boost the employability of young people through a variety of initiatives and activities. These may include the provision of professional training, the creation of sustainable and progressive jobs, raising awareness of young people’s rights in the labor market, as well as providing support and advice to young people seeking employment opportunities. 

The Local Coordinator will play a key role in the implementation of the new “Ready 

For Tomorrow” campaign led by the WeYouth Organization and funded by action aid arab region.  

As Local Coordinator, his/her main mission will be to ensure that project activities are carried out smoothly and efficiently in Gabes region. He/she will be the essential link between local participants, project partners and the central coordination team.  

The Local Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating events, ensuring effective communication, collecting relevant data and ensuring the active engagement of local communities in this initiative. 

Main responsibilities: 

Under the direct supervision of the Program Officer and in close collaboration with  the Project Assistant, the primary mission of the Local Field Coordinator at WeYouth Organization is to ensure the execution of project activities in order to successfully implement and report on them in the field.

  • Effectively coordinate the implementation of project activities, ensuring that they are conducted according to established plans and schedules. 
  • Organize and lead focus group sessions with project participants to gather their opinions, needs and suggestions for improving activities. 
  • Collect, report and organize relevant project data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. 
  • Provide support and guidance to participants involved in the project, ensuring that they have the necessary information and resources to accomplish their tasks. 
  • Prepare regular reports on project progress by collecting and synthesizing relevant data and information. 
  • Carry out field visits to meet and engage stakeholders in the project, ensuring that they understand the objectives and benefits of the project. 
  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Required qualifications : 

  • University degree in social sciences, management, or any related field. 
  • Previous experience in project coordination or similar activities. 
  • Good group facilitation and data collection skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent communication skills in French and Arabic. 
  • Knowledge of the realities / context of the region is a very good asset.
