Location: Tunis, Tunisia  

World Learning-Tunisia seeks an LDF MENA Program Officer to support the Leadership Development  Fellowship (LDF Fellowship) in Tunisia and across the MENA region. The LDF Fellowship is funded by the  U.S. Department of State’s U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and implemented by World  Learning. 

The Fellowship engages emerging leaders across sectors in the Middle East and North Africa in a one-year  application-based leadership development fellowship. The goal is to advance civic engagement and social  entrepreneurship by providing skills, resources, and support networks to analyze complex challenges, re examine interventions, and to seek inventive ways to make positive social and economic changes in local  communities. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Support English and Arabic outreach and recruitment strategies. Duties include creating and editing  recruitment materials, reviewing participant applications, and liaising with applicants to answer  questions and provide support. 
  • Coordinate visa processes for participants travelling to Tunisia. 
  • Implement and administer all the LDF Fellowship programmatic and logistic activities in Tunisia for  fellows travelling to Tunisia. Duties include supporting development of programming in Tunisia,  international and domestic air and ground travel, reserving lodging, meeting, and event space, and  procuring supplies, equipment, and health coverage for fellows. 
  • Support integration of virtual learning tools, activities, and social media tools into fellowship.  Research and engage subject matter experts, technical experts, and facilitators in Tunisia and across  all MENA countries. 
  • Continuously monitor and follow-up with selected fellows. Duties include collecting and tracking  relevant professional and technical documents and resources and providing virtual support and  guidance to fellows throughout the cycle of the fellowship. 
  • Support international LDF Fellowship training conferences. Duties include preparing pre-departure  orientation and program materials for fellows, assisting in organizing seminars, meetings, and  appointments.  
  • Provide translation of materials and documents as well as interpretation as needed. Handle other tasks as assigned.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Master’s degree in related field with at least two years’ equivalent/relevant experience; OR  Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least four years’ equivalent/relevant experience required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic required.
  • Strong cross-cultural experience with people from the Middle East and North Africa region
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with colleagues and persons with different national  and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, organizational and event planning ability.
  • Strong coordination, logistical, and time management skills
  • Strong computer and internet proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations,  and web-based tools).
