Gender Based Violence and other related issues like girls education ,health care system and women unemployment still exist in Tunisia and have nothing to do with age, culture, socio-economic status, education level and nationality. These problems remain a very serious obstacle towards gender equity and are recognized as human rights’ violation.
We will launch our “She Startup “ pilot project in partnership with MEPI Middle East Partnership Initiative (which consists of a training course “and a hackathon where female participants in their respective team of talented and creative leaders ,compete to pitch the best idea of a social enterprise that is oriented to generate revenues and solve women related issues .)
The objectives of the project are:
– To share different experiences and cases of gender related issues in Tunisia
– To develop personal action plans(creation of a social enterprise) that deals with economic empowerment of women on local/national level.
– To create an awareness campaign that is related to gender based violence and other related sub-themes .
-Equipping the participants with new learned skills (leadership ,gender studies ,social entrepreneurship…)
Methodology
The training course will be based on non-formal education methods, encouraging active participation of young female participants (20-35 years old)involved. Some of the methods used will be the following:
Ice-breakers, energizers.
