Acknowledging the necessity to strengthen civic engagement and participation in the MENA-Region, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation is launching a regional training program, designed for young adults in the Middle East and North Africa Region.
The overall objective of the training program is to enhance knowledge of professional methodology; strengthen the understanding of the role of civil society, and of the concept of participation; to increase the CSO contribution to economic and social development as well as its role as mediator between citizens and state in terms of articulating interests and defending rights. Equally, the program aims at motivating young people to participate in the civic life and local development of their countries.
20 selected participants will follow a unique program cycle throughout 2016-2017 with a series of Trainings to strengthen organizational and functional capabilities of CSOs, the program will also focus on individual skill training such as communication and negotiation. The training series will be finalized with a study trip to Germany.
The training program will take place over a 2-year period and will consist of following components:
Functions and Organization of Civil Society Organizations in Democratic Societies
Strengthening Skills
Local Governance and Development
Civic Engagement in Western European Democracies
