IT Officer Profile:
- Strong knowledge in configuring Cloud firewalls like CISCO Meraki; • Strong knowledge in EIA/TIA-568 coloring scheme;
- Work easily with PuTTY while sending an SMTP email;
- Ability to use active directory sites and services;
- Ability to manage ProLiant server using HP iLO;
- Experience implementing servers, routers, switches, firewalls and storage area networks in data centers;
- Experience providing consulting services for data center infrastructure;
- Knowledge and skills related to disaster recovery and IT contingency planning.
- Knowledge and skills related to cloud services and cybersecurity;
- Work easily with a geographically dispersed systems administrative team; and
- Eager to learn new technologies and find solutions for each new IT request.
Project Background:
The USAID Fiscal and Accounting System of Tunisia (FAST) Project supports the Government of Tunisia (GoT) to improve public financial management. FAST focuses specifically on enhancing and upgrading the government’s public financial management information system (PFMIS) to increase the efficiency, transparency, and predictability of public finances. The project strengthens the government’s capacity to carry out fiscal, budgetary, and revenue collection mandates and advances electronic services to optimize regulations, procedures, and authorizations that reduce the cost and time burden on businesses, facilitate investment and trade, and promote innovation. Finally, FAST works to strengthen communication between policy makers and the public to build a common understanding of the constraints to—and opportunities for—economic expansion.
Purpose:
The IT Officer will support all technical IT needs for the FAST program and staff, including overall network administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT and communication equipment.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks:
- Server and server application maintenance (Hardware integration, Windows server maintenance, LAN and WAN connectivity, anti-virus installation and maintenance).
- Client computer hardware and application installation and configuration and maintenance of Laptops, Desktops, MS Windows, MS Office, and other mail clients, anti-virus and other project software.
- Perform network administration activities to include: performing back-ups, restoring files, adding or deleting users; checking space requirements; applying and monitoring security patches for all operating systems and server applications; installing and configuring network systems and workstation systems; and configuring router and firewall firmware and software.
- Troubleshoot employee computer and application problems; performs repairs as needed, provides feedback and recommends and implements solutions, upgrades and training.
- Check systems to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures;
- Manage, control, and secure all software
- Make suggestions for network hardware and software system improvements
- Create and maintain effective inventory of IT and communication equipment
- Provide consulting services as needed to FAST counterparts for IT system implementations and data center infrastructure.
- Prepare technical specifications for data center hardware and software.
- Advise on the use of existing hardware and software.
- Support analyzes of different infrastructure strategies and use of private and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Support the development of data center processes and procedures for maintenance, support and system security.
- Assist in procurement and evaluation of all IT technical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with international donor-funded projects is an advantage;
- Experience and familiarity with DAI systems and procedures is a plus.
- Oral and written fluency in English. French and Arabic experience preferred.
- Preferred at least 5 years of professional experience. Progressively responsible experience in IT support or a related field; and
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field of study.
