Location: Tunisia

We are currently recruiting for a Programme Manager to be based in Tunisia. As Programme Manager you will be responsible for providing programming leadership for Islamic Relief country programmes by ensuring that planning, designing, appraising, monitoring and evaluation and review of all programmes is conducted according to agreed strategic direction. The post holder will lead, manage and develop staff in order to ensure that the country office is capable of fully achieving its agreed targets.

The Programme Manager will give advice, analyse, draw conclusions and make recommendations involving a range of inputs to enhance programmes delivery. S/he will ensure the programme meets IRW quality standards and international code of conduct. You will ensure that programmes are implemented, reviewed and evaluated in a consultative and participative manner through regular field visits. S/he will build working relationships with donors and INGOs in the country.

The successful candidate must have substantial experience of working with INGOs in developing countries, with a background of successful fundraising, dealing and building relations with EC, ECHO, UN, and DFID, plus in-depth understanding of community development and relief issues. A degree qualification in Agriculture, Health, Economic Social Sciences, Social Development or other similar and relevant discipline. Proven experience of developing quality proposals and securing funding from institutional donors is required. Excellent English, written and spoken is essential. Knowledge of Arabic or the local language is desirable. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
