Context:
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Project Manager and the overall supervision of the IOM Chief of Mission in Libya based in Tunis, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable in assisting in the effective management and follow up of the Emergency Preparedness as well as Protection components of IOM projects in Libya. The incumbent will produce written reports and outputs for the project manager, and CoM, key stakeholders and press officers as needs arise. Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission and under the supervision of the Director of Migration Health Division in Geneva for health technical matters, the incumbent will also be responsible for the implementation of IOM’s travel health assistance when it is required
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the healthcare assessment reports on the health condition in the detention centres and disembarkation points in Libya
- Prepare a guidelines of the healthcare assessment and the proposals to improve the healthcare services in the retention centres and disembarkation points in Libya
- Contribute to the analysis and technical elaboration of data gathered from the migration health assessment.
- In consultation with the main stakeholders, including national institutions and UNCT agencies, the incumbent will ensure effective support and follow up of the healthcare services as well as protection activities in Libya.
- Support and follow-up on the development of national SoPs on rescue at sea.
- Support the organization of capacity-building activities on healthcare assessment and services in addition to the rescue at sea first aid, in coordination with national partners from local NGOs.
- Update and share activities work plan that is related to improve healthcare services to migrants in Libya.
- Provide medical advice in the framework of the direct medical assistance given to migrants.
- Support the development of an internal SOP in the framework of the direct medical assistance given to migrants under IOM projects.
- Support in identifying new project opportunities and the development of new projects proposals including rescue at sea, health and migration initiatives.
- Perform liaison work and assist establishing good working relationship with partners and other key stakeholders.
- Contribute to and draft periodic and annual project reports on activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
