Position: Psychologist
Job Site: Tripoli – Libya
Report to: Protection Programme Coordinator
Status: Collaborator/Full time
Key responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible, under the supervision of the Protection Programme Coordinator, for coordinate and manage the CP and PSS activities in line with International minimum standards for Child Protection and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Humanitarian Action.
Responsibilities/duties:
- Conduct awareness rising session and workshops to parents;
- Identify children, teenagers, men, and women whose may need psycho-social support and having protection issues;
- Providing comprehensive psycho-social support to INTERSOS beneficiary;
- Carrying out individual or family counseling sessions with INTERSOS beneficiary;
- Identify training needs for staff and volunteers, and update training plan with his/ her manger;
- Assist in designing, planning, implementing and facilitating training on psychological support and psychological first aid;
- Support INTERSOS staff to improve the quality of services provided (PSS);
- Ensuring that all required documentation is competed in a timely and professional manner;
- Ensuring that all work with beneficiary is confidential and that ethical practices are observed at all times;
- Participate in internal and external meetings, as needed;
- S/he will perform any other tasks requested by the Protection Programme Manager and/or by the Supervisor in the framework of the activities foreseen by INTERSOS program in Libya;
Other responsibilities:
- Uphold the INTERSOS Code of Conduct and policies;
- Ensure the respect of the core humanitarian principles: neutrality, impartiality, independence and humanity and the respect of the “do no harm” principle of humanitarian action.
- Strictly follow the internal procedures and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
- maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work
- Effectively applies knowledge of mental health and psychosocial issues in execution of responsibilities at appropriate level
