Specific context :
The International Cooperation Officer at WeYouth Organization plays a critical role in enhancing the organization’s global engagement and funding strategies. Reporting directly to the head of programs (HOP), this position is responsible for developing and managing international partnerships, securing funding, and conducting policy analysis to support the organization’s strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include researching and drafting project proposals, overseeing donor relations, and ensuring adherence to donor regulations. The role requires close collaboration with the Head of Programs, Officer, the Finance and department to ensure successful project implementation and compliance.
Main responsibilities:
Partnership Development and Sourcing:
- Identify and assess international funding and partnership opportunities to advance WeYouth’s vision/mission/ objectives.
- Work with global partners to develop and submit proposals that align with WeYouth’s approach.
- Strengthen Weyouth’s network by engaging in international networks and events to build meaningful collaborations.
Policy Analysis and Context Monitoring
- Analyze policies, donor trends, and socio-economic conditions impacting the ecosystem of the organization.
- Provide insights and recommendations for aligning projects with current regulations and funding trends.
- Provide support and guidance to participants involved in the project, ensuring that they have the necessary information and resources to accomplish their tasks.
Proposal Management
- Draft concept notes, technical proposals, and budgets in coordination with internal teams.
- Submit proposals and ensure all administrative documents are completed on time.
Project Implementation and Monitoring
- Monitor project execution, ensuring adherence to deadlines, deliverables, and donor requirements.
- Prepare narrative and financial reports in collaboration with the head of programs and the finance department.
External Relations and Communication
- Assist the Head of Programs in the development of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks to support project tracking and reporting.
- Ensure effective implementation of M&E processes by providing support in data collection, reporting, and incorporating feedback into future projects
- Incorporate lessons learned and best practices into future proposals and implementations.
- Track and document ongoing and completed projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Carry out field visits to meet and engage stakeholders in the project, ensuring that they understand the objectives and benefits of the project.
- Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in international relations, Political Science, Business development Studies, Economics, or any related fields.
- One year of professional/ volunteering experience in managing international projects
- Strong experience in partnership management, policy analysis, and project proposal development.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (Microsoft Office package,).
- Researching, writing and editing content that is clear, concise and effectively conveys key messages to target audiences.
- Detail focused and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking and policy analysis expertise.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse cultural environments.
