Title: Program Support/Reporting the Transition Coordinator

Base: Tunis, Tunisia

Reporting to: Country Director

Description: The Coordinatorwill provide administrative and reporting/Monitoring and Evaluation support to the Country Director and other program management staff as assigned by the Country Director, in the form of assisting in the day-to-day programmatic and reporting operations of IWPR’s Libya programming.

Managing: Libyan media partners

Project: Building the capacity of emerging broadcast media, informal and social media, and print media in Libya

Contract Type: Local contract

Contract duration: Local consultancy contract of twelve (12) months-Possibility to extend

Nationality: all nationalities

Remuneration: attractive remuneration according to the profile

Starting date: September 10, 2015

 

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities      

  • Plan and coordinate, in conjunction with the Country Director and Project Managers, operations and administration of IWPR’s MENA programmes from the Tunis office;
  • Facilitate procurement of goods/services necessary for implementation of MENA programmes in line with IWPR’s procurement policy as requested by Country Director or MENA Director;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to Country Director and Project Managers;
  • Work closely with Country Directors and Project Managers/Finance office on program planning and administration, and budget control;
  • Support Country Director in development of funding proposals for IWPR’s work in Libya or other countries as requested;
  • Train support staff how to conduct and administer activities and ensure compliance with funders’ requirements as well as with organisational policy and objectives;
  • Review and monitor program progress to ensure that goals and objectives are being met;
  • Plan and coordinate, in conjunction with the Reporting the Transition executive producer, all programming inside Libya for upcoming radio series;
  • Develop and implement Monitoring & Evaluation around Reporting the Transition, including liaising directly with program partners to evaluate the successes and impacts of this radio content;
  • Develop and implement outreach and social media highlighting Reporting the Transition programming and successes/impacts;
  • Organize and coordinate editorial internships with IWPR host outlets in conjunction with the Project Manager, including logistics, liaising with media partners and follow up/M&E

Finance and Reporting

  • Assist Finance department in financial management of projects, as directed by the Country Director in coordination with the Finance Director.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Edit and contribute to programmatic reporting and M&E development to;
  • Gather information and prepare reports for program M&E procedures;
  • Monitor programme deliverables and outputs to ensure compliance with grant obligations;
  • Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policymaking when required.

Other

  • Maintain up-to-date human resources files for staff, interns and volunteers;
  • Compile materials for the monthly newsletters and Company global website when required;
  • Establishing and maintaining a current database of contacts;
  • Translate short documents relevant to IWPR work between English and Arabic, monitor social media and Arab language media;
  • Undertake other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Country or MENA Director.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Minimum 3 years programmatic experience at national or international level
  • Experience of managing project programs and familiarity with budgets
  • Management of project staff
  • Experience of working in a program management function for an NGO with a background in United States grants and contracts would be a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of programmatic regulations relating to NGOs and foreign organizations in Tunisia and Libya
  • Ability to analyze and distil complex narrative and financial information; Strong interpersonal and communication skills including good written and spoken English and Arabic
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Proficiency in computers, software, spreadsheet and finance management packages.
