Context

The Organization

Founded in February 2015, Impact Foundation for Research and Development (IMPACT) is a youth-led nongovernmental organization that aims to use Research to influence social and economic policies, specifically in Education, Employment and Health sectors.   IMPACT believes in the untapped potential of youth, and seeks to provide mentorship and motivation to mobilize youth to confront local and national challenges. Impact aims to:

• Initiate and support projects of economic, social and cultural development in Tunisia, especially in underprivileged regions.

• Organize and coordinate the efforts of various Research centers, universities and Think Tanks in Tunisia.

• Develop, reinforce and improve the skills and capacities of Research centers and young Researchers in Tunisia.
• Draw attention to the importance of linking Research to development on the economic, social, cultural and environmental levels.

• Draft and develop proposals for laws and policies that promote Research.
• Rationalize public  policies  through  the  involvement  of  Research  in  State reforms.

The project

“Wellbeing Perceptions for Better Policy Design” is a twelve-month project funded by National Endowment for Democracy (February 2018– January 2019). This project is part of civil society efforts to reinforce the role of Public Policies design  in population wellbeing. Since Tunisia is going through a phase of political, social and cultural changes, this project responds to a critical need for active and promising citizenship in Public Policies assessment.

The project will involve several stakeholders in a process of diagnostics, analysis and proposition of recommendations and reform options and alternatives. The project will evaluate the wellbeing perceptions in the governorate of Gafsa and provide recommendations by its end. Specific report and four policy briefs will be written and addressed to national and local authorities. IMPACT will carry out a household survey of 1000 citizens, conduct three focus groups, and produce a report on citizens perceptions of their well-being, government performance and public service delivery. This study will focus on four main axes related to Public Services: Health, Security, Employment and income, and Environment. A report will be written jointly by members of the project team and experts.

Responsibilities:

The intended assignment aims to produce a scientific report that analyzes the perceptions of citizens in the region regarding Health, Security, Employment and income, and Environment. The study should design and structure recommendations for decision makers at national and local level.
