FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE 

IFES FIELD OFFICE IN TUNISIA

STARTING DATE: JUNE/JULY 2018

 

ABOUT IFES/TUNISIA

The IFES Tunisia program aims to strengthen the capacity of electoral institutions to administer credible local elections that reflect the will of the people; better inform youth and marginalized communities about local elections and decentralization; encourage youth civic engagement at the local level and promote meaningful participation of all citizens in their political systems, including women, youth and other traditionally marginalized groups.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Finance and Administrative Associate (FAA) will assist the Finance and Administrative Coordinator (FAC) in ensuring a sound financial and administrative management of the IFES Office in Tunisia in compliance with Tunisian laws and regulations as well as IFES policies, rules and procedures.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Provide assistance to the FAC on the financial management of the IFES Office in Tunisia in conformity with Tunisian laws and regulations as well as with IFES policies, rules and procedures
  • Support the preparation and submission of monthly field expenses reports for IFES programs
  • Assist in the management of human resources (recruitment process, long-listing, drafting of contract for IFES employees and local consultants, tracking of staff vacations, etc.)
  • Follow up to the implementation of sub-awards and maintain regular contacts with sub awardees to ensure compliance with contractual obligations in close cooperation with the respective IFES Project Associate/Coordinator
  • Collect, organize and archive all financial and human resources documents
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Critères d'éligibilité

  • University degree equivalent to the Bachelors level is required, though a master degree is preferred, in finance, accounting or related fields
  • Up to two years of professional experience in finance, accounting, human resources
  • Proven experience in using accounting software. Knowledge ofQuickbooks is desirable. .
  • Experience in working in international organizations and managing grants from donors, such as USAID, State Department, Canada, Switzerland, aredesirable
  • Full proficiency in Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook
  • Ability to remain highly organized and to complete tasks with limited supervision and within strict deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively present and respond to questions
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and dependable
  • Collaborative, team oriented individual
  • Ability to prioritize, to show initiative, to demonstrate good judgment and resourcefulness
  • Fluency in Arabic andFrench language required. Proficiency in English language is desirable
  • Travel to the regions could be required.
