About IFES Libya

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) works closely with institutions in Libya to enhance democratic processes and increase civic engagement among voters. IFES seeks to increase the professionalism and transparency of government institutions with election-related responsibilities by building their capacity through technical support. More specifically, IFES provides technical support on election management, civil society training, and civic education programs. The Ministry of Education is one of our institutional partners and we are currently working with the ministry to introduce a program of civic education in the public schools.

Responsibilities:

IFES seeks experienced trainers to serve as part of a team of 4-5 trainers to conduct training for teachers in Tripoli. The assignment is a short-term consultancy of 20-30 days, with a brief period for preparation and post-reporting, and training event of 15 to 20 days to be conducted in Tripoli or Tunis. Under the direction of the IFES Libya Chief of Party or his delegate, the trainer will:

• Review curriculum developed for grades 4-9, including course books, sample lessons and teachers’ manuals
• Prepare for Training of Trainers
• Conduct Training of Trainers in Tripoli or Tunis
